OLD BUSINESS
Hearts of Gold 2026
The Commission discussed the Hearts of Gold event that will take place tentatively on
Sunday, February 22, 2026. Looking to switch locations, and have already visited multiple
places in town to see what each offer.
Swing into Spring 2025
There was a great turnout for the Swing into Spring event that was held on Saturday, May
10. We had perfect weather and staff received great feedback from attendees. There was
discussion about the swing attraction that didn’t work due to a mechanical issue that
couldn’t be fixed by the company, but was noted that with all the other activities offered
families seemed to be enjoying the bubbles, inflatables, and flower craft.
Autumn Harvest
Scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 11th, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at North School Park. Staff discussed
who would co-chair the event, be in charge of scarecrows and prizes, order tables and
chairs, and oversee the craft activities. Entertainment for the event will feature
performances by the Vibe Dancers, School of Rock, and the South Middle School band.
Confirmed food vendors include Kettle Corn, Kori’s Koop, and Garibaldi’s. There was
discussion on when welcome remarks should be made moving forward, whether it’s before
VIBE or after VIBE to reach the largest crowd.
NEW BUSINESS
Tree Lighting 2025
The Commission began discussions for Tree Lighting 2025, scheduled for Friday, Nov. 28th,
4:30 – 6:30 p.m. Staff has confirmed that the trolleys and the accessible bus are both
