Please contact the Aldermen’s Office at (630) 256-3020 with questions. CALL TO ORDER Chairwoman Smith called the meeting to order at 1:01pm. ROLL CALL Present: 5 - Chairperson Patty Smith, Vice Chair Shweta Baid, Alderman Carl Franco, Alderman Mike Saville and Alderman Bill Donnell APPROVAL OF MINUTES 23-0947 Approval of the Building, Zoning and Economic Development Committee meeting held on November 15, 2023 . A motion was made by Vice Chair Baid, seconded by Alderman Franco, that this agenda item be accepted and filed. The motion carried. Ayes: 5 PUBLIC COMMENT Jack Py spoke regarding the vacant land on Liberty Street and N Eola Rd Dennis Bass spoke regarding the vacant land on Liberty Street and N Eola Rd City of Aurora Page 1 Building, Zoning, and Economic Meeting Minutes - Final November 29, 2023 Development Committee AGENDA 23-0920 An Ordinance Providing for the Execution of an Annexation Agreement with the Owners of Record Providing for B-2 (C) Business District - General Retail and OS-1 (C) Conservation, Open Space and Drainage Zoning, with a Conditional Use Planned Development zoning for the territory which may be Annexed to the City of Aurora located at the southwest corner of Liberty Street and N. Eola Road on Vacant Land in Dupage County, Aurora Illinois 60502 A motion was made by Alderman Franco, seconded by Alderman Saville, that this agenda item be recommended for approval. The motion carried. Ayes: 5 23-0921 An Ordinance Annexing Certain Property being Vacant Land located at the southwest corner of Liberty Street and N. Eola Road to the City of Aurora, Illinois 60502, pursuant to an Approved Annexation Agreement A motion was made by Alderman Franco, seconded by Alderman Saville, that this agenda item be recommended for approval. The motion carried. Ayes: 5 23-0922 An Ordinance Establishing a Conditional Use Planned Development, Approving the Liberty and Eola Plan Description and amending Chapter 49 of the Code of Ordinances, City of Aurora, by modifying the zoning map attached thereto to an underlying zoning of B-2 Business District - General Retail and OS-1 Conservation, Open Space and Drainage Zoning for the property located at the southwest corner of Liberty Street and N. Eola Road A motion was made by Alderman Franco, seconded by Alderman Saville, that this agenda item be recommended for approval. The motion carried. Ayes: 5 23-0923 A Resolution Approving a Preliminary Plan and Plat for Liberty & Eola Subdivision, on vacant land located at the southwest corner of Liberty Street and N. Eola A motion was made by Alderman Franco, seconded by Alderman Donnell, that this agenda item be recommended for approval. The motion carried. Ayes: 5 23-0925 An Ordinance amending Chapter 49 of the Code of Ordinances, City of Aurora, Illinois, commonly known as the "Aurora Zoning Ordinance" This Ordinance was discussed City of Aurora Page 2 Building, Zoning, and Economic Meeting Minutes - Final November 29, 2023 Development Committee CLOSED SESSION ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Alderman Franco, seconded by Vice Chair Baid, that this meting be adjourned. The motion carried. Chairwoman Smith adjourned the meeting at 1:56pm.
