The City Council meeting was called to order at 6:06 p.m. by Mayor Weisner,
and the Roll was called.
Present: 13 - Mayor Tom Weisner, Alderman Tina Bohman, Alderman Juany Garza,
Alderman Ted Mesiacos, Alderman Bill Donnell, Alderman John Peters,

APPOINTMENT OF SERGEANT-AT-ARMS
A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Irvin, to
appoint Officer Crista Rees as Sergeant-At-Arms for this meeting. The motion
carried by voice vote.
PRESENTATIONS
14-01115 Recognition of David Bohman as a "Hometown Hero"
Mayor Weisner announced that the the Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association of
Aurora celebrated its 20th anniversary in September, and read a proclamation, which
had declared September 14, 2014 as Citizen Police Academy Alumni day in Aurora.
Mayor Weisner thanked the alumni present for their service.
Mayor Weisner also honored the president of the Citizen Police Academy Alumni
Association of Aurora, Mr. David Bohman, who is in his second term. Mayor Weisner
mentioned that Bohman has increased the membership into the alumni by 50%, and
has received the member of the year award. Bohman is also a past president of the
Kiwanis Club of Aurora, and he currently serves as Lieutenant Governor of Division
21 in the Illinois-Eastern Iowa District of Kiwanis.
Mayor Weisner presented Mr. Bohman with the "Hometown Hero" award, and
thanked him for serving the community and being an active volunteer.

14-00951 A Resolution Approving a Revision to the Final Plan on Lot 202 of
Butterfield Phase 2 for the removal of hour's restriction for the NRG
Energy peaker power plant located at 2909 N Eola Road, Aurora,
Illinois 60504.
A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Irvin, to allow a
speaker to address the City Council. The motion carried by voice vote.
Terri Voitik, of Prairieview Ln. S. in Aurora, addressed the members of the council in
regards to concerns related to this item.
Chief Development Services Officer Bill Wiet provided an overview of the request,
and explained that when the peaker plant was originally approved, the restriction was
put in place because of the potential noise. Wiet pointed at the fact that no complaints
have been received in this regard since the beginning of the plant's operations.
NRG Director of Government Affairs Barry Matchett gave an overview of the
operation of the NRG peaker plant, and addressed questions from Alderman
Johnson.
Alderman Johnson moved to take this item back to committee. The motion died for
lack of a second.
A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Mervine,
to approve this resolution. The motion carried.
