Present: 13 - Mayor Tom Weisner, Alderman Tina Bohman, Alderman Juany Garza, Alderman Ted Mesiacos, Alderman Bill Donnell, Alderman Mike Saville, Alderman Scheketa Hart-Burns, Alderman Rick Mervine, Alderman Edward Bugg, Alderman Lynne Johnson, Alderman Richard Irvin, Alderman Bob O'Connor and Alderman Carl Franco PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE INVOCATION MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF TUESDAY, JULY 26, 2016 16-00729 Approval of the Tuesday, July 26, 2016 City Council Meeting Minutes A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Franco to approve and file the Minutes from the Tuesday, July 26, 2016 City Council Meeting. APPOINTMENT OF SERGEANT-AT-ARMS A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Mervine to appoint Officer Jeka as Sergeant-at-Arms for this meeting. The motion carried by a voice vote. PRESENTATIONS 16-00750 Recognition honoring 5th grade basketball team - Aurora Youth Program. The Aurora Youth Program 5th Grade Boys Basketball team was recognized for their winning season. The Recognition was discussed and filed. The motion carried by a voice vote. 16-00756 Annual Financial Report for the Aurora Police Pension Fund for the Fiscal Year Ended December 31, 2015 . A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Irvin to accept and file the report as presented. The motion carried by voice vote. 16-00757 Annual Financial Report for the Retiree Health Insurance Trust Fund for the Fiscal Year Ended December 31, 2015 . A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Mervine to accept and file the report as filed. The motion passed by voice vote. BILLS 16-00754 Bill Summary and Large Bill List. A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Saville, that the bills as presented be approved and paid. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 12 - Alderman Bohman, Alderman Garza, Alderman Mesiacos, Alderman Donnell, Alderman Saville, Alderman Hart-Burns, Alderman Mervine, Alderman Bugg, Alderman Johnson, Alderman Irvin, Alderman O'Connor and Alderman Franco SPEAKERS A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Mervine to allow members of the public to address City Council. The motion carried by a voice vote. The following people spoke to the City Council on non-agenda items: Willie Cox spoke regarding the overflow of water onto his property and the lack of sufficient drainage. Frances Berg spoke to thank the City of Aurora for a successful National Night Out on August 2, 2016. Panorea Bakutis, Robert Morris University, spoke regarding the Aurora Community Scholarship for Aurora residents that would provide half off tuition when pursuing a MBA degree from the DuPage Campus.
