Present: 11 - Alderman Juany Garza, Alderman Ted Mesiacos, Alderman Bill Donnell, Alderman Carl Franco, Alderman Mike Saville, Alderman Scheketa Hart-Burns, Alderman Rick Mervine, Alderman Edward Bugg, Alderman Judd Lofchie, Alderman Bob O'Connor and Mayor Richard Irvin Absent: 1 - Alderman Tina Bohman PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE INVOCATION APPOINTMENT OF SERGEANT-AT-ARMS A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Garza to appoint Officer Hornburg as Sergeant-at-Arms for this meeting. The motion carried by a voice vote. NEW BUSINESS A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Franco to suspend the rules for the items listed on the agend under "New Business". The motion carried by the following vote. Aye: 10 - Alderman Garza, Alderman Mesiacos, Alderman Donnell, Alderman Franco, Alderman Saville, Alderman Hart-Burns, Alderman Mervine, Alderman Bugg, Alderman Lofchie and Alderman O'Connor 17-00443 A Resolution Appointing Robert J. O'Connor as Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Aurora. A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Garza to approve the Resolution as presented. Jenkins as Alderman-at-Large for the City of Aurora. A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Garza to approve the Resolution as presented. This Resolution was approved by the following vote Aye: 10 - Alderman Garza, Alderman Mesiacos, Alderman Donnell, Alderman Franco, Alderman Saville, Alderman Hart-Burns, Alderman Mervine, Alderman Bugg, Alderman Lofchie and Alderman O'Connor Enactment No: R17-163 17-00445 Swearing-In of Alderman At Large After the conclusion of the ceremony Alderman Jenkins was seated on the City Council. 17-00437 A Resolution Approving the Appointment of City Council Committee Members. A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Garza to approve the Resolution as presented. This Resolution was approved by the following vote Aye: 11 - Alderman Garza, Alderman Mesiacos, Alderman Donnell, Alderman Franco, Alderman Saville, Alderman Hart-Burns, Alderman Mervine, Alderman Bugg, Alderman Lofchie, Alderman Jenkins and Alderman O'Connor Enactment No: R17-164 SPEAKERS A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Garza to allow members of the public to address City Council. The motion carried by a voice vote. The following addressed City Council: Agenda items: Norm Titiner, former Chairman of the Aurora Economic Development Commission, spoke regarding the appointment of Sherman Jenkins as Alderman-at-Large. Non-agenda items: Margie Logman spoke about the retirement of Paula Irvin in July 2017. CLOSED SESSION There was no need for a Closed Session.
