Please call the City Clerk's Office at (630) 256-3070 with questions. ROLL CALL Mayor Irvin called the meeting to order at 6:03 p.m. and the roll was called. Present: 13 - Alderman Emmanuel Llamas, Alderwoman Juany Garza, Alderman Ted Mesiacos, Alderman Bill Donnell, Alderman Carl Franco, Alderman Mike Saville, Alderman Brandon Tolliver, Alderwoman Patty Smith, Alderman Edward Bugg, Alderwoman Shweta Baid, Alderman John Laesch, Alderman Ron Woerman and Mayor Richard Irvin APPOINTMENT OF SERGEANT-AT-ARMS A motion was made by Alderwoman Smith and seconded by Alderwoman Garza to appoint a Sergeant-at-Arms for this meeting. The motion carried by voice vote and Officer Sullivan served as the Sergeant-at-Arms for this meeting. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Irvin. INVOCATION The Invocation was presented by Pastor Dallas Scott. City of Aurora Page 1 City Council Meeting Minutes - Final November 28, 2023 MAYOR'S OFFICE OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS PRESENTATIONS Mayor Irvin presented the Mayor's Award of Excellence to Pastor Dallas Scott and wished him the best for his retirement. Mayor Irvin presented a Proclamation for World AIDS Day on December 1st to representatives from the Open Door Health Center in Aurora. The Open Door Health Center was recognized for their 30th Anniversary in the City of Aurora. District 129 Superintendent, Dr. Jeff Craig, presented challenge coins to Mayor Irvin and Alex Alexandrou, Chief Management Officer - City of Aurora, to acknowledge the collaboration between the West Aurora School District and the City of Aurora. Representatives from Factor/Hello Fresh updated the City Council on the progress they have made at their Aurora facility and responded to questions from the City Council. Alex Alexandrou, Chief Management Officer - City of Aurora, spoke regarding this item. MAYORAL APPOINTMENTS 23-0816 A Resolution approving reappointments of Nadia Kanai, Sunil Patel, Nitin Fuldeore and Anu Krishnamurthy to the Indian American Community Outreach Advisory Board. A motion was made by Alderwoman Smith and seconded by Alderman Laesch to approve this item. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 12 - Alderman Llamas, Alderwoman Garza, Alderman Mesiacos, Alderman Donnell, Alderman Franco, Alderman Saville, Alderman Tolliver, Alderwoman Smith, Alderman Bugg, Alderwoman Baid, Alderman Laesch, Alderman Woerman Enactment No: R23-343 23-0894 A Resolution approving the reappointments of Dr. Yolanda Stovall, Keith Wise, Sandra Harrison and Glenda Blakemore to the African American Heritage Advisory Board. A motion was made by Alderwoman and seconded by Alderwoman to approve this item. Ben Carson spoke regarding pedestrian and bicycle safety. Jillian Gibson spoke regarding a safety study at Montgomery, Odgen and Eola Roads. Nate Pichler spoke regarding Factor/Hello Fresh.
