ROLL CALL Members present: Kim Bright, Andrea McMillian, Timothy Brown, Vincent Gaddis, Jaqueline Gibson, Ginger Ingram, Lily Rocha, Curtis Wilson (8). Members absent: Rajesh Char (1). It should be noted that Rajesh Char arrived at 6:05 p.m. after the Minutes of the Thursday, November 18, 2021 were approved. OTHERS PRESENT Others present: Jeff Anderson, Deputy CIO / I.T.; Michelle Williams, Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion / Community Affairs; Deborah Lang, Assistant Corporation Counsel; Chanel Kassis, Board Secretary. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Approval of the Minutes of the Thursday, November 18, 2021, Civilian Review Board Meeting. Member Rocha made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Vice Chair McMillian. The motion was carried by a roll call vote as follows: Ayes: 8 - Kim Bright, Andrea McMillian, Timothy Brown, Vincent Gaddis, Jaqueline Gibson, Ginger Ingram, Lily Rocha, Curtis Wilson. Nayes: 0. Absent: 1 - Rajesh Char. PUBLIC COMMENT None. REPORT OF THE CHAIR Chair Bright provided an overview of her board related activities and thanked Michelle Williams as being the contact with the Communications staff for editing the CRB logo. DISCUSSION OF RECORDS City of Aurora Page 1 Civilian Review Board Meeting Minutes December 16, 2021 None. SOFTWARE TRAINING None. City Laptops Jeff Anderson discussed the citywide security hack and provided an update on the CRB laptops. OLD BUSINESS None. NEW BUSINESS None. Approval of written recommendations on case 2021-0143 Member Brown made a motion to approve the decision, seconded by Member Char. The motion was carried by a roll call vote as follows: Ayes: 8 - Kim Bright, Andrea McMillian, Timothy Brown, Rajesh Char, Vincent Gaddis, Ginger Ingram, Lily Rocha, Curtis Wilson. Nayes: 0. Abstained: 1 - Jaqueline Gibson. Approval of written recommendations on case 2021-0280 Vice Chair McMillian made a motion to approve the decision, seconded by Member Gaddis. The motion was carried by a roll call vote as follows: Ayes: 8 - Kim Bright, Andrea McMillian, Timothy Brown, Rajesh Char, Vincent Gaddis, Ginger Ingram, Lily Rocha, Curtis Wilson. Nayes: 0. Abstained: 1 - Jaqueline Gibson. OTHER BUSINESS A request was made for the recommendations from the CRB to be documented as part of the overall complaints process and be recorded as part of the public facing reporting associated with complaints against the Aurora Police City of Aurora Page 2 Civilian Review Board Meeting Minutes December 16, 2021 Department. Member Char made a motion to approve this request, seconded by Vice Chair McMillian. The motion was carried by voice vote. ANNOUNCEMENTS None. CLOSED SESSION None. Consideration and Adoption of the Board’s Recommendations to the Chief of Police Regarding Pending Civilian Complaints None. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Vice Chair McMillian, seconded by Member Gibson to adjourn the meeting.
