ROLL CALL Members present: Kim Bright, Timothy Brown, Rajesh Char, Ginger Ingram, Andrea McMillian, Lily Rocha, Curtis Wilson (7). Members absent: Vincent Gaddis, Jacqueline Gibson (2). OTHERS PRESENT Others present: Michele Williams Clark, Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; Deb Lang, Assistant Corporation Counsel; Chanel Kassis, Board Secretary. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Approval of the Minutes of the Thursday, August 18, 2022, Civilian Review Board Meeting Vice Chair McMillian made a motion to discuss the minutes, seconded by Chair Bright. Member Ingram discussed that the REPORT OF THE CHAIR (CHAIR BRIGHT) occurred at the August 18, 2022 meeting and the minutes should reflect that and Vice Chair McMillian made a motion to approve the minutes as amended reflecting that the REPORT OF THE CHAIR (CHAIR BRIGHT) was given and received on August 18, 2022 and for it to be itemized for the agenda last month and this month, seconded by Chair Bright. The motion was carried by a roll vote as follows: Ayes: 6 - Kim Bright, Timothy Brown, Rajesh Char, Andrea McMillian, Lily Rocha, Curtis Wilson. Nayes: 1 - Ginger Ingram. Absent: 2 - Vincent Gaddis, Jacqueline Gibson. Vice Chair McMillian made a motion to discuss the minutes as revised, seconded by Member Ingram. The motion was carried by a roll vote as follows: Ayes: 6 - Kim Bright, Timothy Brown, Rajesh Char, Ginger Ingram, Andrea McMillian, Lily Rocha, Curtis Wilson. Nayes: 0. OLD BUSINESS Report on Outreach Activity - Listening Tour (Member Gibson) Chair Bright provided an update in Member Gibson's stead about the listening tour that was scheduled for August 22, 2022 at the Phillips Park Visitors Center joined with Alderman Ted Mesiacos (Ward 3) and Alderman Bill Donnell (Ward 4). A future listening tour has been scheduled for September 29, 2022 at the Ward 5 Office joined with Alderman Carl Franco (Ward 5) and Alderman Michael Saville (Ward 6). Another future rescheduled listening tour has been scheduled for October 5, 2022 at the Marywood Community Center joined with Alderman Emmanuel Llamas (Ward 1) and Alderman Ron Woerman (Alderman-at-Large). Member Rocha made a motion requesting to have APD present the same Body Worn Camera presentation that was given at the last CRB meeting held on August 18, 2022 and to have an agenda created if the number of CRB members present at a Listening Tour Meet and Greet Session exceeds 2 members, seconded by Member Wilson. The motion was carried by a roll vote as follows: Ayes: 6 - Timothy Brown, Rajesh Char, Ginger Ingram, Andrea McMillian, Lily Rocha, Curtis Wilson. Nayes: 1 - Kim Bright. Absent: 2 - Vincent Gaddis, Jacqueline Gibson. REPORT OF THE CHAIR REPORT OF THE CHAIR (CHAIR BRIGHT) Election of Chair for 2022-2023 Member Ingram nominated Member Wilson for Chair. Ayes: 3 Nayes: 4 Absent: 2 Chair Bright nominated herself for Chair. Election of Vice Chair for 2022-2023 Member Wilson nominated Member Ingram for Vice Chair. Ayes: 3 Nayes: 4 Absent: 2 Chair Bright nominated Member Char for Vice Chair. Ayes: 4 Nayes: 3 Absent: 2 Member Char has been elected for Vice Chair. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Member Rocha, seconded by Member Brown to adjourn the meeting.
