Present 13 - Mayor Tom Weisner, Alderman Kristina "Tina" Bohman, Alderman Juany Garza, Alderman Ted Mesiacos, Alderman Bill Donnell, Alderman John Peters, Alderman Mike Saville, Alderman Scheketa Hart-Burns , Alderman Rick Mervine, Alderman Edward Bugg, Alderman Lynne Johnson, Alderman Richard Irvin, and Alderman Bob O'Connor MINUTES OF MEETING OF NOVEMBER 4, 2014 14-00961 Approval of the Minutes of the November 4, 2014 Committee of the Whole meeting. Alderman Hart-Burns moved, seconded by Alderman Mervine, to approve the minutes of the Council Meeting held on November 4, 2014. Motion carried by voice vote. PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS 14-00646 A Resolution Approving the Final Plat for Lot 1 of Eola Crossing Subdivision, being vacant land located at 2230 S. Eola Road, Aurora, Illinois 60503 (PLACED ON CONSENT AGENDA) City of Aurora Page 1 Committee of the Whole Meeting Minutes - Final November 13, 2014 14-00887 An Ordinance Granting a Special Use Permit for a Medical Cannabis Dispensing Facility Use on the Property located at 1056 N. State Route 59, Aurora, Illinois, 60504 Zoning Administrator Ed Sieben, and PharmaCann representatives Mr. and Mrs. Leja, led a presentation on this item. Mr. and Mrs. Leja spoke about the formation of PharmaCann, the on-site security plans for the Aurora location, and their operation plans. Mr. and Mrs. Leja addressed questions from some of the Aldermen. Mayor Weisner left the meeting at 5:57. Mayor Pro Tem Bob O'Connor chaired the remainder of the meeting. (PLACED ON UNFINISHED BUSINESS) 14-00888 An Ordinance Granting a Special Use Permit for a Medical Cannabis Dispensing Facility Use on the Property located at 929 N. Lake Street, Aurora, Illinois, 60506 Zoning Administrator Ed Sieben, and Curative Health representative Nicholas Vita, spoke about this item and answered questions from some of the Aldermen. (PLACED ON UNFINISHED BUSINESS) 14-00889 An Ordinance Granting a Special Use Permit for a Medical Cannabis Cultivation Facility Use on the Property located at 2229 Diehl Road, Aurora, Illinois Zoning Administrator Ed Sieben, and Curative Health representative Nicholas Vita, spoke about this item and answered questions from some of the Aldermen. (PLACED ON UNFINISHED BUSINESS) 14-00890 An Ordinance Granting a Special Use Permit for a Medical Cannabis Dispensing Facility Use on the Property located at 1271 N. Lake St, Aurora, Illinois, 60506 Zoning Administrator Ed Sieben, and Attorney James Vaselli with Del Galdo Law Group, spoke in regards to this item, and addressed questions from some of the Aldermen. (PLACED ON UNFINISHED BUSINESS) MAYOR’S REPORT Chief Management Officer Carie Anne Ergo spoke about the awards on the table at today's meeting - one awarded to the City of Aurora Police Department by the International Association of Police Chiefs, sponsored by Cisco Systems; and the 2014 Governor Sustainability Award presented to the City of Aurora by the Illinois Sustainable Technology Center. Ergo also brought to the Council's attention bill HB 5485 (Minimum Manning Bill), and the potential cost to the City of Aurora.
