AGENDA - Burlington Walk / Bike Council May 3, 2023, Wednesday 5:30 – 7:00 pm Meet on Church Street in Front of City Hall AGENDA: Walk-and-Talk Session on Street Design - Main St. to Battery (90 min, walking about 1.25 miles) After meeting on Church Street in front of City Hall, we’ll walk down Main St. and briefly detour onto St. Paul St. to observe and discuss the recent and proposed Great Streets improvements for walking and biking. We will continue to Battery Street to talk about improvements BWBC can consider supporting for the Battery Street Scoping Study, now underway. Jonathon Weber from Local Motion, who is representing BWBC on the Scoping Study, will lead the Walk-and-Talk. Please check the weather and come prepared for walking in whatever conditions are forecast. If the weather is unsuitable for the walk-and-talk, we will meet at City Hall at the Sharon Bushor Conference Room (aka Room 12) on the bottom floor, accessible from the lower entrance on Church Street. Public restrooms will be available at City Hall at the start of the walk and at Union Station where the walk will end. Previous Meeting – At the April 5, 2023 meeting participants continued discussion of possible revisions to city-wide ordinances, and possible updates to the Bike Parking ordinances and issues. Next Month: BWBC Meets Wednesday, June 7, 2023, 5:30 – 7:00 pm The BWBC is an all-volunteer advisory council to the City of Burlington. We work closely with and advise the Department of Public Works and the Department of Parks, Recreation, & Waterfront on infrastructure improvements and policy changes for walking and bicycling. The council also leads advocacy efforts and organizes events and activities that promote and celebrate walking and biking in Burlington and beyond.
