Public Art Committee Meeting Minutes May 14, 2026 12:30 PM Zoom Meeting Committee Members and Staff in Attendance: Sara Katz, Doreen Kraft, Max Madalinski, Colin Storrs, Julia Ursaki, Debra Wilkinson 1. Call to Order: 1. Meeting called to order at approximately 12:35 PM. 2. Public Forum: No members of the public present 3. Discussion and Voting on the Prioritization Matrix BCA Staff presented the draft Public Art Prioritization Matrix intended to guide evaluation of future standalone public art projects funded through the 1% for Public Art program. The committee discussed criteria related to geographic distribution, visibility and access, equity and representation, project readiness, integration with existing infrastructure projects, artistic opportunity, and outside funding opportunities. Additional discussion focused on how community sensitivity and public process considerations should factor into project evaluation. The committee also discussed potential processes for future project nominations and community input. 4. Review of Potential Sites for Future Standalone Public Art Installation BCA Staff presented several potential future project locations, including the Shelburne Street Roundabout, City Hall Park, possible unassigned sites in the New North End, and a mural program. Discussion included existing site infrastructure, public visibility, pedestrian access, concentration of nearby public art, and opportunities for future community engagement and neighborhood identity-building. Committee ran out of time to implement the prioritization matrix. It was suggested that another meeting would be appropriate. 5. Adjournment: Meeting adjourned at 1:28:55 PM
