Tax Abatement Committee Tuesday, November 04, 2025, 12:00 p.m. Contois Auditorium, City Hall Minutes of the Hearing Committee Members: Councilors Joe Kane (JK) Chair; Buddy Singh (BS) attended virtually by Microsoft Teams, Evan Litwin (EL) Others Present: Erik Ramakrishnan (ER) attended virtually by Microsoft Teams, City Attorney’s Office; Joseph Turner (JT), City Assessor; Kenneth Nosek (KN), Committee Administrator-City Assessor’s Office; Traci Isham (TI) and Stephen Schoeffel for the Treasurer’s office. Petitioner’s Present: Daniel Smith, CEO and President of the Greater Burlington YMCA. Petitioner’s Absent: Helen R. Weltman At 5:34 p.m. Chair Joe Kane commenced meeting Introductions made of Committee and Staff members for committee. Agenda: Motion to adopt by RS Second by EL passed Unanimous Minutes from last meeting adopted Public Comment: No one here today to speak on public forum Hearings: Greater Burlington Young Mens Christian Association Inc, 286 College Street; PID# 050-1-082-000 Representing is Daniel Smith, CEO and President of Burlington YMCA. Petitioner sworn in by ER YMCA purchase building westerly from VT Trust. Purchased prior to tax bill but after April 1 on 05.25.2025(. YMCA is statutorily exempt. 19,056.59. Building will be classroom space. Dan Smith hopes city will help in partnership to abate taxes for this cause. Hearing for started 5:40 p.m. Hearing closed at 5:49 p.m. .
