Present: 12 - Mayor Vi Lyles, Mayor Pro Tem Julie Eiselt, Council Member Dimple Ajmera, Council Member Tariq Scott Bokhari, Council Member Ed Driggs, Council Member Larken Egleston, Council Member Justin Harlow, Council Member LaWana Mayfield, Council Member James Mitchell, Council Member Matt Newton, Council Member Greg Phipps, and Council Member Braxton Winston II 2. 15-7886 Housing Strategy Pamela Wideman, Director of Housing & Neighborhood Services and Christopher Kizzie of Enterprise Community Partners made a presentation regarding the Comprehensive Strategic Housing Plan. Fulton Meacham, Director of the Charlotte Housing Authority and Judy Seldin-Cohen, A Way Home updated Council regarding their organizations and programs. 3. 15-7890 Vision Zero / Red Light Camera Update Marcus Jones, City Manager and Liz Babson, Director of Transportation made a presentation regarding Vision Zero and presented information on the Red Light Camera program. Opportunity Zones Debra Campbell, Assistant City Manager briefed Council on additional Opportunity Zones that can be submitted to the State for consideration. A motion was made by Council Member Mitchell and seconded by Council Member Newton to Approve the revised list of Opportunity Zones. The motion carried unanimously. 1. 15-7910 Committee Chair Report-Outs Council member Mitchell, Chairperson provided a report for the Economic Development Committee. Council member Ajmera, Chairperson provided a report for the Environment Committee. Council member Phipps, Chairperson provided a report for the Transportation and Planning Committee and Council member Eiselt, Chairperson provided a report for the Community Safety Commiittee. 4. 15-7885 Closed Session (as necessary) A motion was made by Council Member Mitchell and seconded by Council Member Egleston to Go into Closed Session pursuant to NCGS 143-318.11(a)(3) to consult with attorneys employed or retained by the City in order to preserve the attorney-client privilege and to consider and give instructions concerning the handling or settlement of Brian Kurzel, et al.l v. City of Charlotte, 16-CVS-19521. The motion carried unanimously. The meeting returned to open session at 9:36 p.m. in Room 267. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Council Member Driggs and seconded by Council Member Bokhari to Adjourn the meeting.
