Present: 12 - Mayor Vi Lyles, Mayor Pro Tem Julie Eiselt, Council Member Dimple Ajmera, Council Member Tariq Scott Bokhari, Council Member Ed Driggs, Council Member Larken Egleston, Council Member Justin Harlow, Council Member LaWana Mayfield, Council Member James Mitchell, Council Member Matt Newton, Council Member Greg Phipps, and Council Member Braxton Winston II 1. 15-8447 Budget Discussion / Preliminary Votes The City Council deliberated on budget adjustments and made preliminary votes for the FY19 Operating and Capital Budgets. BREAK The meeting recessed at 5:31 p.m. for dinner. RECONVENE The meeting reconvened at 5:44 p.m. 2. 15-8450 Memorial Stadium Renovation Partnership Ron Kimble, City Manager's Office, presented the City/ County Partnership Proposal for the Memorial Stdium Renovation. On June 11, 2018 Council will be requested to consider the Economic Development Committee's recommendation to authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute an Interlocal agreement with Mecklenburg County. 3. 15-8457 Bojangles Coliseum / Ovens Auditorium Connector Facility Tom Murray and Steve Bagwell, Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority presented an update on the Bojangles Coliseum / Ovens Auditorium Connector Facility. On June 25, 2018, Council will be requested to consider the approval of an additional $1.5 million from tourism funds in order to incorporate a performer corridor and address construction cost escalations. 4. 15-8072 I-277 Pedestrian Bridge Dan Gallagher, Transportation, provided an update on the Rail Trail/ I-277 Pedetrian Bridge. On June 11, 2018, Council will be requested to consider authorizing the City Manager to execute public/private partnership agreements for the South End Rail Trail/I-277 Bridge, and appropriate $11,000,000 from public funds and private contributions to the General Community Investment Fund for the South End Trail/I-277 Bridge Project. Council member Mayfield, Chairperson, provided a report for the Housing and Neighborhood Development Committee. Council members Bokahri and Egleston, Co-Chairs, provided a report for the Intergovernmental Relations Committee. Council member Phipps, Chairperson, provided a report for the Transportation and Planning Committee. 6. 15-8399 Closed Session (as necessary) There was no closed session.
