Zelsdorf, J. Newton-Butt, R. Nimtz, M. Shrikhande Commissioners Absent: T. Farley, V. Kelly Staff/Council present: S. VanDeWoestyne Guest(s): N/A Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 4:10 p.m. by B. Zelsdorf. Approval of Minutes: J. Newton-Butt moved to have the minutes of the July 2021 meeting approved, M. Shrikhande seconded. All ayes. New Business: 1. S. VanDeWoestyne shared an update on the current Police Officer recruitment process, with interviews scheduled for next Monday. Another process will be commencing in December. Commissioners discussed the current residency requirement and wondered if that was a barrier to hiring qualified applicants from the Illinois side. Commissioner J. Newton-Butt made a MOTION announcing this commission’s support of relaxing the residency requirement for Police Officer to allow officers to reside across the river in Illinois. Seconded by M. Shrikhande. All ayes. Old Business: 1. Commissioners reviewed the Inclusion & Equity Plan for EEO 2021-2023 and M. Shrikhande made a motion to approve, seconded by R. Nimtz. All ayes. Adjournment J. Newton-Butt moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by R. Nimtz. All ayes.
