MINUTES COMBINED CONSTRUCTION CODE BOARD OF APPEALS AND REVIEW Location: Council Chambers, City Hall Davenport. Date: 2nd October Time: 2:30 pm Attendees: Board members Duane Green, Darren Guffy, Todd Staack (via conference call) , Andrew Dasso, Horace Peeples, Frank Ehrecke . Board member Gary Trees was absent. City of Davenport staff Jason Kauzlarich, John Claeys, Mike Anderson, Jake Ralfs, Jon Keeney & Trishna Pradhan were also present. Trishna Pradhan presented the Board members with the duties and responsibilities of the Board members and the operation of the Board and meetings. “Open Meeting” requirements and procedures were briefed. Andrew Dasso was chosen as the Board Chairman, this will be a one year tenure position. Revision on Chapter 6 of the 2018 Uniform Plumbing Code was discussed. The proposed change & amendment was unanimously approved by the board. The amendment shall be: 15.28.021 Additions, deletions and amendments to the Uniform Plumbing Code A. Add a new paragraph to section 605.2.2 of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2018 as follows: Solvent cement joint on CPVC pipe & fittings shall NOT be allowed on pipes serving potable water. This amendment will now be presented at the City Council Meeting for further action. Future Business: Board member Duane Green mentioned possible amendments to the 2017 National Electrical Code. Present for the meeting were Duane Green, Darren Guffy, Todd Staack, Andrew Dasso, Gary Trees, Jason Kauzlarich, Jake Ralfs and John Claeys. Horace Peeples and Frank Ehrecke were absent. McGee presented the Board members with the duties and responsibilities of the Board members and the operation of the Board and meetings. “Open Meeting” requirements and procedures were briefed. Code reference material availability was discussed. A Board Chairman will be chosen at the next meeting where all Board members should be present. Meeting adjourned at 3:40 P.M.
