MINUTES CITY OF DEKALB DeKalb Firefighters Pension Fund Special Meeting December 18, 2019 The Board of Trustees of the DeKalb Firefighters Pension Fund held a Special Meeting on December 18, 2019, in the Haish Conference room at 200 S. Fourth St., DeKalb, Illinois. Pat Ericksen, President of the Board, called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. ROLL CALL President Pat Eriksen called the roll. Members of the DeKalb Firefighters Pension Fund present were Pat Eriksen, Jeff McMaster, Chris Ziola, and Bill Kalal. Members absent were Ray Krueger. Also present were Assistant City Manager Ray Munch and Recording Secretary Natalie Nelson APPROVAL OF AGENDA Jeff McMaster motioned to approve the agenda, Bill Kalal seconded the motion, and the motion passed by unanimous voice vote. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION Assistant City Manager Ray Munch was present. He had no comments. NEW BUSINESS 1. Sean Freeman retirement and approval of pension payouts. Pat Eriksen presented the pension payout figures from Lauterbach and Amen, as calculated by the Department of Insurance Calculator, for Firefighter Sean Freeman, who submitted written notice of his intended retirement date of January 4, 2020. His initial monthly payment beginning January 5, 2020, will be $5,007.00. His annual benefit will be $60,083.95. Payment figures were calculated through 2073. Bill Kalal motioned to approve Sean Freeman’s retirement date and pension payout figures as presented, Chris Ziola seconded the motion, and a roll call vote was conducted. Yea votes were cast by Bill Kalal, Chris Ziola, Jeff McMaster, and Pat Eriksen. No opposing votes were cast. The meeting adjourned at 1:03 PM. The next regular meeting of the DeKalb Firefighters Pension Board will be January 9, 2020, at 8:00 AM, location to be determined.
