MINUTES Regular Meeting DeKalb Foreign Fire Insurance Tax Board November 13, 2023 9:30 AM The Foreign Fire Insurance Tax Board (“FFITB”) conducted a Regular Meeting on November 13, 2023, at DeKalb Police Headquarters, located at 700 W. Lincoln Hwy., 2nd Floor Police Training Room, DeKalb, Illinois. ROLL CALL Chairman Joe Long called the meeting to order at 9:50 a.m. and called the roll. Members present at roll call were Trevor Chilton, Matt Klotz, Joe Long, and Deputy Fire Chief Donald Faulhaber for Fire Chief Mike Thomas. Members not present were Austin Isham, Vincent Laudicina, and Greg Thornton. Also in attendance was Fire Department Administrative Assistant Jill Voight, acting as recording secretary. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Trevor Chilton moved to approve the agenda. Matt Klotz seconded the motion, a voice vote was conducted, aye votes were voiced by all present members. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION None APPROVAL OF MINUTES Trevor Chilton moved to approve the regular meeting minutes from November 13, 2023. Matt Klotz seconded the motion. A voice vote was conducted, aye votes were voiced by all present members. OLD BUSINESS Review of completed and pending purchases • Hose Roller Cart at Station 3 • Thermal Imagers x 2 Foreign Fire Insurance Tax Board November 13, 2023 Page 2 of 2 NEW BUSINESS Approval of Treasurer’s Report for 3rd quarter of 2023 Trevor Chilton moved to approve the treasurer’s report. Matt Klotz seconded the motion. A roll call vote was conducted. Aye votes were cast by Trevor Chilton, Matt Klotz, Joe Long and Deputy Chief Faulhaber. No nay votes were cast. The motion passed. Discussion of New Checking Account at Resource Bank The Foreign Fire Insurance Tax Board account has been moved to Resource Bank after unresolved issues with the previous bank. Discussion of 2024 Wish List Discussion was had as to the top few items on the wish list and the approximate cost of each item as well as how much the board was willing to allocate to wish list items at this time. Item 1: Carhart Recall Sweatshirts, Item 2: Updating of Historical Wall at Station 1, Item 3: Update of Station 1 Wall Photos, Item 4: Custom Dining Table for Station 1, Item 5: 4 Box Fans for Station 1. Discussion and Approval of Items to Purchase Trevor Chilton moved to approve items 1-5. Deputy Chief Donald Faulhaber seconded the motion. A roll call vote was conducted. Aye votes were cast by Trevor Chilton, Matt Klotz, Joe Long and Deputy Chief Faulhaber. No nay votes were cast. The motion passed. Discussion of Meeting Dates for 2024 Meetings to be held at 9:30 a.m. • February 12 • May 13 • August 12 • November 18 Discussion of Topics for Next Meeting Agenda • Elections Next regular meeting will be February 12, 2024, at 9:30 a.m., location TBD. ADJOURNMENT Seeing no further discussion, Trevor Chilton moved to adjourn, Matt Klotz seconded the motion, a voice vote was conducted, and the motion passed unanimously.
