Approval of Minutes from the May 15 Meeting: Motion to accept by Commissioner Allured,
second by Huggins. Approved by voice vote.
Theressa Hoover Historical Marker Update – Commissioner Allured: Allured said the check
has been received for the marker and will be deposited within the week. They will have one year
to spend the money and complete the project.
Bylaws Updates – Bostick reminded the Commission about the switch to the same software
used by City Council and Planning Commission. The bylaws would need to be updated to
remove the proscriptive meeting organization if the Commission was in support. Chair Bryant
suggested the commission match with the rest of the system. Staff anticipates that this change
could be in place as soon as the July meeting, but staff will continue to provide PDF and links
during the transition. Huggins motioned to accept the bylaws updates as proposed, Allured
seconded. Motion passed by voice vote. Staff will bring a version for signature to the next
meeting.
Announcements – Commissioners were excited about the new meeting room. Vice Chair
Huggins asked if the new St. John’s marker was an example of what the Henderson School
marker could look like. Bostick provided photos from today’s unveiling to show the high quality
photo etching possible with the stainless steel marker option.
Henderson School Marker Site Visit at 350 N. Olive Street – departed City Hall at 6:51 PM.
