MEd with an emphasis on multicultural education
Experience serving on Canopy and Fayetteville Public Library Foundation boards.
As a community volunteer, I've helped Historic Cane Hill write supportive materials for groups and families coming
to learn about the area. I have also designed learning experiences for families specifically for Dr. Martin Luther
King, Jr. Day. I am passionate about preserving and investigating untold history and sharing that legacy. I love our
town and its people!
Why would you like to be considered for appointment to this committee? *
I've lived in NWA for 30 years; only 2 in the city limits, but in that time, I've enjoyed learning about the history of our
area and am very interested in civil rights. I'm proud Fayetteville was the first school district to integrate after the
Brown vs. Board of Ed. decision in 1954. I am very concerned about efforts at the federal level to remove accurate
historical displays, and want to help our community know more about our history and its people.

As the Community Outreach Coordinator at the NWA Food Bank, I work daily at the intersection of neighbors
seeking food assistance and the volunteers, and community partners providing that support. This role has given
me a comprehensive understanding of the charitable food system in Northwest Arkansas, including its strengths,
gaps, and opportunities for improvement. I regularly collaborate with local nonprofits, government entities,
schools, and community partners to increase access to food.
Why would you like to be considered for appointment to this committee? *
Serving on the Fayetteville Food Commission would allow me to bring both frontline insight and systems-level
experience to the table. I can offer a practical, community-informed perspective that bridges strategy and
implementation, ensuring decisions are grounded in the lived realities of our neighbors while aligned with long-
term solutions.

What are your qualifications for serving on this committee? *
(Include education and expertise in the subject matter)
B. Arch, University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, 2007
M. Arch II, University of Texas at Austin, 2018
Having worked as an architect for 20 years, I'm very familiar with the interpretation and administration of zoning
code, variance, and conditional use. I focused on urban design and planning in my time practicing and teaching for
four years at the U of A Community Design Center, as well as two years in my graduate program.
Why would you like to be considered for appointment to this committee? *
The Fayetteville 2040 plan, along with countless third-party studies, outlines a road map to a more sustainable,
resilient, and equitable city. This is a vision that would create a better place to live for my family and me. Short of
employment or elected office in our city government, this commission plays the most impactful role in ensuring
the City of Fayetteville continues to strive to reach these goals.

As a Chief of Staff, I work across people, process, and policy, experience that aligns with the Civil Service
Commission’s role overseeing appointments, promotions, and appeals in Police and Fire. I value public service, due
process, and equity, and would bring a careful, impartial, analytical approach to applying the Commission’s rules.
Personally, public institutions are of high value to me, and I value the opportunity to support, which is evidenced in
my volunteer and work experience.
Why would you like to be considered for appointment to this committee? *
I would like to be considered for appointment to this committee because I believe fair, consistent, and well-
communicated personnel processes are essential to public trust. Serving on the Civil Service Commission would
allow me to apply my experience in policy, governance, and organizational decision-making in a way that supports
merit-based systems and strengthens confidence in public institutions.
