I have a BS in Agriculture, a JD, and a Masters of Law in Agricultural and Food Law. I work for the National
Agricultural Law Center as a food law attorney. My scholarship focuses on the legal and regulatory landscape for
food labeling, food safety, nutrition programs, and local food systems. I work everyday writing, researching and
speaking on topics relevant to our food system. Additionally, I've been involved in agriculture my whole life and I
am a Washington County Farm Bureau member.
Why would you like to be considered for appointment to this committee? *
As someone who works in the agriculture industry, I have always been passionate about the job of "feeding the
world." In particular, I've always felt it was the responsibility of those in agriculture to ensure that work extends to
caring for the most vulnerable in our communities. Because of my professional role, I have an understanding of
our complex food systems, and I would love the opportunity to use that knowledge to serve and better my
community.

I hold a BA in Journalism and Multimedia Storytelling, giving me a strong foundation in narrative communication,
essential to how arts and culture are experienced by a community. My background in writing and media has
sharpened my ability to tell stories that connect with audiences, which I see as central to outreach work. I've also
volunteered as production director and event coordinator for local churches, experiences that taught me how arts
and culture function as genuine community anchors.
Why would you like to be considered for appointment to this committee? *
Arts and culture have shaped who I am, and I want to give back to Fayetteville, the community I now call home. As a
young writer building roots here, I believe my fresh perspective paired with deep respect for the culture that came
before can help ensure Fayetteville remains a place where artists feel supported and local heritage is preserved. I
bring commitment to the belief that access to the arts makes a city stronger. I am eager to learn, work, and see
Fayetteville's arts community thrive.

I have been involved in the arts and entertainment for 30 years. Though I have not earned any degrees, I have
hands on experience on both sides of this business from organizing events, parades, booking entertainment for
venues and touring bands, including my own band. As an artist have built myself from the ground-up to be where I
am at today. I feel I have a clear understanding on what it takes to bring the best of the best to our town and I
would love to work with like minded people.
Why would you like to be considered for appointment to this committee? *
I would like to be considered because I feel I could be a good addition to the discussions and tasks. I would like to
see Fayetteville grow with the arts. I feel we have a thriving art community ( the best) and I am passionate on being
a part of keeping us moving forward. I have been working very hard on my own art path for the last 15 years.
Because of the struggles and success that I have had, I feel now is the time and place for me to lend a voice and be
a part of this committee.

I'm a local working Artist. I create my paintings and sculptures in my Fayetteville art studio. I sell my artwork at
Terra Studios, Fenix Arts, Third Art Collective, The Art Gallery at NWA Mall, and the Fort Smith Regional Art Museum
gift shop. I also sell online and at various art shows. I currently have a solo exhibit at one of the U of A Faulkner
Center galleries. My perspective of creating, exhibiting, and selling art as a working artist is probably a very
pragmatic one.
Why would you like to be considered for appointment to this committee? *
I feel I might be able to bring a useful perspective to the table. I'm also very curious and think I would learn a lot
from listening to knowledgeable arts community people during the 14 months left on this Art Council seat.
My background includes helping to found the 501(c)(3) Non Profit that runs The Art Gallery at NWA Mall. I learned a
lot from that experience. I also served on the Board of the Walton Arts Center back when it was still being planned
out and built (early 1990s).

Government Channel Chamber of Commerce Fayetteville Flyer
What are your qualifications for serving on this committee? *
(Include education and expertise in the subject matter)
I believe I am qualified to serve on the committee because of my professional experience in arts institutions in
NWA & my engagement with local creatives and non-profits. For 3 years, I worked as a Graphic Designer at Crystal
Bridges, where I became familiar with regional and national artists working in the region. I recently began a new
role as a designer at the U of A School of Art to work more closely with local artists. I've also worked with non-
profits (NWA Equality, Canopy, AIGA, etc.)
Why would you like to be considered for appointment to this committee? *
I’d like to be considered for this role because I can bring a valuable perspective to Fayetteville’s art scene. As a
queer person & born-and-raised Arkansan, I want to highlight the voices that are so often excluded from the
conversation. The BIPOC & LGBTQ+ communities bring so much value to this city & deserve to have their voices
heard. If I were to join this committee, I would use my voice to highlight these perspectives. To me, Fayetteville as a
safe haven, rooted in community, art & nature.
