The second Guest Speaker was Brad Waugh, who presented his pictures and his experiences participating in
the 1 Mile Run/Walk during Spark! Fishers on June 26, 2024. Brad noted that it was a great opportunity but
as the first annual event, not enough people were aware of disabled participants. Cost may have been a
deterrent.
Committee Updates:
Housing – Wilbur Sutton – no updates
Employment- Chrissy Pogue and Michele Steltz- the Accessibility Training took place at HEPL on 8/26/24. It
was a safe way to practice interviewing skills.
Community Support – Kelly Hartman spoke about the election year- much is changing at the State level.
Networking - Darcy spoke about Farmer’s Market Inclusion Day on 7/13/24. She presented her pictures from
the event. It was a great day although very hot. The FACD table may need to be relocated next year, and a
table skirt or sign made to identify the organization. 10 vendors did not show up, we may need to reconsider
charging to participate.
Adjournment at 6:35 pm.
