Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 12:00 PM by Chairperson Lynee Wells PRESENT: Jones, Lunger, Wells, Winn, Monoyios, Mathis, Patton, Parkes, Clark, Kampmeier, Nyenhuis, Bennett, Kasper, Naramore, Gilles, Terpstra, Miguel-Cipriano, Anderson ABSENT: Judd (Excused), Rayzel (Excused), Batzer (Excused), DeLong (Excused) II. Approval of Minutes Approval of Minutes from August 4, 2022 RESULT: ACCEPTED [UNANIMOUS] YEAS: Jones, Lunger, Wells, Winn, Monoyios, Mathis, Patton, Parkes, Clark, Kampmeier, Nyenhuis EXCUSED: Kevin Judd, Carolina Rayzel III. Public Comment on Agenda Items IV. Action Items V. Discussions 1. Traffic Calming Update • John Bartlett summarizes the discussion item “Traffic Calming Update”. • Commissioner Parkes asks if there is a process that allows for neighborhoods to request to be part of the temporary traffic calming solutions. • Bartlett responds that yes that is part of the current process. 2. Department Performance Metrics • Colin Cooper summarizes the discussion item “Department Performance Metrics” • Commissioner Parkes asks if predictive analytics will be involved in the performance metrics going forward. • Cooper responds that it’s a big part of the metrics going forward, though it does come with more of a range of possibilities, so it will also rely on staff expertise instead of pure data approach. • Josh Naramore adds that the department will still be using “Socrata” to visualize Generated 9/29/2022 03:00 PM Mobile GR Commission Meeting Full Page 2 September 1, 2022 data, but the new changes will allow for more automation with the data. 3. FY23 Work Program • Josh Naramore summarizes the discussion item “FY23 Work Program” • Commissioner Jones asks about the feedback staff is getting on the social zone program. • Naramore responds that business that have them, like them, but adjacent businesses do not like them. Naramore adds that on-street parking is more valuable for certain businesses and less valuable for others. • Commissioner Monoyios asks if the work programs can be categorized. Possibly making a visual timeline, showing sequence and priority. • Naramore responds that staff can look at a more visual way to display the programs. • Commissioner Clark asks if businesses are aware of the upcoming fees associated with the social zone changes. • Naramore responds that staff will be working with the Chamber of Commerce on that, to make sure they are all aware of the changes.
