VI. Discussion Items
1. MEDC (RAP) Program Update and Discussion
Commissioner Kurt Reppart presented this item and provided an overview of the MEDC
RAP program. He is hoping some of the projects on the list will make it to the Right
Place regional application list. The board discussed their project list alongside the
MEDC RAP program criteria and the Right Place criteria for eligible projects. The board
understands all their projects may not fit the MEDC or the Right Place criteria. The
Commissioner mentioned that if none of the projects make it to the Right Place projects
list, the board should consider submitting a separate application for SDG CIA. The
Commissioner also noted that the Right Place has not committed to the regional
application, and they are likely to withdraw.
VII. Reports
1. Corridor Manager
Jose Nietes highlighted some items in the report.
2. Economic Vitality Committee
Mr. Nietes provided an update on the possibility of contracting crossing guards. Kristin
Bennett explained to the board the process involved in getting the city to pay for a
crossing guard. She advised the board to first make their request with the school
district. If the city has not exhausted funds allocated to crossing guards, it is possible to
have the city pay for it.
However, the city will only pay for school crossing guards, not general pedestrian
crossing guards.
Adam Russo of Com 616 provided a brief update on the pedestrian safety project. The
banners are ready to go up, they are garage signs and will be posted on grasses along
the street.
3. Design Committee
Synia Jordan provided an update on the diatribe project. The committee has received a
proposal and will be reviewing it and reporting to the board in future meetings.

VIII. Other Business
1. Progressive AE
Mary Degerink introduced the Progressive AE team to provide an update on their
pedestrian audit. She reminded the board of the importance of the traffic safety project.
Now that they have the audit, there is still some work to be done. She would like to
receive an endorsement from the team to continue with the project. She also introduced
the possibility of coming back to the board to seek more funds for the project, the board
members were very open to the idea of giving more money to the team.
Jess Howard and Chris Zull from Progressive AE presented their pedestrian audit report
to the board. The next step for them will be to present these findings to the city.
2. City Updates
Commissioner Reppart provided some city updates to the board. Also, he would like to
invite Ollie with the New Community Development Trust Fund to attend a future meeting
to talk about the fund.
Additionally, Mel Trotter has submitted a proposal for a project just outside SDG CIA
that will include about 35 apartments, tiny houses, and community space. He will be
inviting them to a future meeting.
