Scrivener's
Correct name to Justice & Security Strategies Inc.
• Appropriates a $470,000 grant from the State to establish a third Cure Violence site, to
be located on the Westside, with no local match required
• Grant funds will be used for staffing and implementation of the third site,
trauma-informed support, social services, and data analytics
• The grant period ends June 30, 2021
• The $470,000 being appropriated through this legislation represents funding for six
months of operation of the site
Concern
The grant period runs through 6/30/21. By appropriating the full grant amount intended
for six months of operations, the City could expend the entire $470,000 and be
reimbursed at a lesser amount causing a negative cash situation within the grant.
NOTE: The next regular meeting will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2021.
