City of Joliet 150 West Jefferson Street Joliet, IL 60432 Meeting Minutes - Final Thursday, May 6, 2021 4:30 PM City Hall, Council Chambers Arts Commission - Arts Incubation Subcommittee Committee Members Quinn Adamowski Eric Gorder Peg (Marguerite) Stoiber Deborah Summers Arts Commission - Arts Incubation Subcommittee Meeting Minutes - Final May 6, 2021 Page 1 of 1 Arts Commission - Arts Incubation Subcommittee Meeting Minutes - Final May 6, 2021 Pursuant to Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan, the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity's Guidelines recommend best practices that limit an in-person meeting to 50 people or less (Council Chambers allows for 18 members of the public) while adhering to social distancing guidelines. During meetings, any member of the public physically present in the Council Chambers in excess of the limit will be asked to wait in another room with live feed to the meeting until the Citizens To Be Heard on Agenda Items section or Public Comments section of the meeting has commenced. Speakers will be rotated into Council Chambers to allow everyone an opportunity to speak. Pursuant to the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity’s Guidelines, it is recommended that any individual appearing in-person wear a face-covering to cover their nose and mouth. Citizens who are unable to attend the meeting can email comments in advance of the meeting to publiccomment@joliet.gov. ROLL CALL Deb Summers attending via phone. Present Chairperson Quinn Adamowski, Eric Gorder, Peg (Marguerite) Stoiber and Deborah Summers APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Peg (Marguerite) Stoiber, seconded by Eric Gorder, to approve the April 21, 2021 meeting minutes as presented. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Chairperson Adamowski, Gorder, Stoiber and Summers TMP-1560 Attachments: 0421 Incubation Sbcm Meeting Minutes for Approval CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS None. Anyone speaking on an agenda item is entitled to speak for a maximum of 4 minutes. OLD BUSINESS Discussion of Established Murals The subcommittee reviewed the status of this half of the mural review and recapped the status of the project. Discussion of Condition of First Set of Murals There was extensive conversation on the first group of murals that were assessed. Some of the ratings changed from the original spreadsheet that Quinn had developed. The Committee will consider their results and come to some conclusions regarding how to proceed with those murals that need attention. Page 1 of 2 Arts Commission - Arts Incubation Subcommittee Meeting Minutes - Final May 6, 2021 General Comments on Mural Set 2 Mural Set 2 will be discussed in detail at the next meeting on May 19, 2021 and generally the newer mural sor those installed on panels were in better condition than those created directly on the vertical surface. Recommendation of Non-Voting Subcommittee Members No additional volunteers have submitted resumes for consideration, the Committee will continue to search for interested citizens. NEW BUSINESS None.
