City of Joliet 150 West Jefferson Street Joliet, IL 60432 Meeting Minutes - Final Wednesday, May 19, 2021 4:00 PM City Hall, Council Chambers Arts Commission - Arts Incubation Subcommittee Committee Members Quinn Adamowski Eric Gorder Peg (Marguerite) Stoiber Deborah Summers Arts Commission - Arts Incubation Subcommittee Meeting Minutes - Final May 19, 2021 Page 1 of 1 Arts Commission - Arts Incubation Subcommittee Meeting Minutes - Final May 19, 2021 As Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan continues, Governor Pritzker is moving Illinois forward to a Bridge to Phase 5 mitigation on Friday, May 14, 2021. In order to adhere to social distancing guidelines, the capacity in Council Chambers will remain at 18 members of the public. During meetings, any member of the public physically present in the Council Chambers in excess of the limit will be asked to wait in another room with live feed to the meeting until the Citizens To Be Heard on Agenda Items section or Public Comments section of the meeting has commenced. Speakers will be rotated into Council Chambers to allow everyone an opportunity to speak. Pursuant to the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity’s Guidelines, it is recommended that any individual appearing in-person wear a face-covering to cover their nose and mouth. Citizens who are unable to attend the meeting can email comments in advance of the meeting to publiccomment@joliet.gov. ROLL CALL Present Chairperson Quinn Adamowski, Eric Gorder and Peg (Marguerite) Stoiber Absent Deborah Summers APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Stoiber, seconded by Gorder, that the May 6, 2021 minutes be approved. OLD BUSINESS Discussion of Established Murals Chairman Adamowski notes the established murals conversation is ongoing from the past several weeks. Page 1 of 2 Arts Commission - Arts Incubation Subcommittee Meeting Minutes - Final May 19, 2021 Discussion of Condition of Second Set of Murals The subcommittee continues their discussion of the second set of murals and shares their findings of each one visited. They discuss the condition of each and factors impacting the condition such as traffic, exposure to the elements and placement. Some of the condition grades are changes based on conversation. Ultimately the subcommitee determines the second set of murals discussed is in better condition than the first. Recommendation of Non-Voting Subcommittee Members The subcommittee reviews the parties interested in joining the subcommittee as a non-voting member. Interested parties include Greg Peerbolte, Alex Paramo and Dante DiBartolo. NEW BUSINESS No new business is discussed. The subcommittee does discuss next steps. Eric Gorder volunteers to compile the data agreed upon by the subcommittee concerning mural condition . The subcommittee also discusses the timeline of the recommendation to the whole Commission including the presentation of documentation. The subcommittee also agrees that a meeting is needed to address the public comments received concerning established murals . PUBLIC COMMENT None.
