As of August 30, 2021, Governor Pritzker announced a statewide indoor mask mandate for all Illinois residents, regardless of
vaccination status.
In compliance with Governor Pritzker’s mandate, any individual appearing in person must wear a face-covering to cover their
nose and mouth.
Citizens who are unable to attend the meeting can email comments in advance of the meeting to publiccomment@joliet.gov.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A motion was made my C. Malone, seconded by L. Posley to approve the November 4, 2021
meeting minutes. The motion was passed unanimously.

FUTURE FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES TO FOCUS ON IN 2022
Art Walk/First Friday or Final Friday Event
The Subcommittee discussed that this is going to be one of the main events that was talked
about at the last Arts Commission meeting of a whole for 2022. This will be an all
culminating event that will bring several businesses and institutions together to celebrate
and showcase the Arts within the community. The subcommittee discussed and reviewed
over the proposed ideas list and discussed next steps. The subcommittee discussed that
communication, and discussing with the whole Arts Commission to get more hands on
deck to support in a larger scale event.
Grants
Subcommittee discussed how in the future grants or any in coming funds in the future will be
processed. There will be a structure of communication and command of how funds will come in and
go out.
Partnerships/Collaborations
Subcommittee discussed and reviewed over communications with the Will County Health
Department. The subcommittee discussed possible future opportunities to collaborate and connect

Other Ideas
Subcommittee discussed ideas of having smaller pop-up galleries that would showcase local arts
events and shows. Subcommittee discussed ideas of what other cities have done to create
collaborative interactive art experiences. The subcommittee discussed ideas of a possible community
project.

Subcommittee discussed the dates for the next meeting. Tuesday February 8th, Wednesday February
9th, or Tuesday February 15th, 2022.
Goals and Items that can be Worked on Before Next Meeting
Goals and items that can be worked on before next meeting: Subcommittee discussed and
reviewed over what was discussed. The subcommittee discussed next steps will be
focusing efforts and energy towards getting beginning steps in communication for the Art
Walk/ First Friday or Final Friday event.

be adjourned. The motion was approved unanimously.
