ROLL CALL 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES TMP-4273 Attachments: 6.29.22 MINUTES for the Arts Commission Funding Subcommittee TMP-4272 Attachments: MINUTES from 6.9.22 Arts Commission Funding Subcommittee TMP-4271 Attachments: Minutes from the May 24th 2022 Arts Commission Funding Subcommittee Meeting TMP-4270 Attachments: MINUTES for January 10th 2022 Meeting Arts Commission Funding Subcommittee 3. CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS None. This section is for anyone wanting to speak regarding agenda items and are allowed a maximum of 4 minutes. It is not a question and answer period and staff, and the Commission members do not generally respond to public comments. The City Clerk has a copy of the public speaking procedures; please note, speakers who engage in conduct injurious to the harmony of the meeting shall be called to order by the Presiding Officer and may forfeit the opportunity to speak. 4. FUTURE FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES TO FOCUS ON IN 2022 a. ART WALK The subcommittee discussed the new date of the Art Walk taking place on Saturday October 15th, 2022 from 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. b. SPONSORSHIP/PARTNERSHIPS The subcommittee discussed the importance of the Whole Arts Commission helping in supporting with outreach to businesses and sponsors for The Art Walk. The subcommittee also discussed including and thanking the CCP and The Art Movement, Inc. for sharing out the information about the event and participation to local businesses, artists, and musicians. INTERACTIVE ART The subcommittee discussed the logistics and materials that will be needed for the interactive art making and walk through the trees in the Chicago Street lot. d. NEXT STEPS The subcommittee discussed the importance of sharing out the information to local businesses, artists, and musicians. The subcommittee also discussed the importance of keeping track of who we have contacted to participate in the event. e. JOLIET BUSINESS OWNERS MEETING The subcommittee discussed the successful meeting at the business owners meeting that the CCP has monthly. Information about the Art Walk was shared out to local businesses and will be shared out by the CCP. f. OTHER IDEAS The subcommittee discussed reaching out to other organizations or people to borrow tents and other items that can save on the cost of the event. The subcommittee also discussed the importance of getting a press release out about the event. The subcommittee discussed the possibility of having t-shirts created for the event to rise funds. 5. GRANT The subcommittee discussed the current grant that is being worked on, NEA Our Town Grant. The first phase has been completed and now will be waiting to start the second phase. The subcommittee discussed the timeframes, the logistics, and information about the grant. The subcommittee also discussed up and coming grants and deadlines. 6. REVIEW TIMELINE FOR FUTURE ITEMS a. PLANNING FOR FUTURE FUNDING SUBCOMMITTEE MEETINGS The subcommittee discussed the importance of having many meetings ready to go for updates and planning for the Art Walk. The subcommittee discussed having the next meeting on Monday August 15th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. b. GOALS AND ITEMS THAT CAN BE WORKED ON BEFORE NEXT MEETING The subcommittee discussed that goals of outreach to local businesses, sponsors, artists, and musicians.
