City of Joliet 150 West Jefferson Street Joliet, IL 60432 Meeting Minutes - Final Wednesday, March 10, 2021 4:00 PM City Hall, Conference Room 1 Arts Commission - Vision 2022 Subcommittee Committee Members Quinn Adamowski Erick Deshaun Dorris Megan Millen Sue Regis Arts Commission - Vision 2022 Subcommittee Meeting Minutes - Final March 10, 2021 Page 1 of 1 Arts Commission - Vision 2022 Subcommittee Meeting Minutes - Final March 10, 2021 Pursuant to Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan, the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity's Guidelines recommend best practices that limit an in-person meeting to 50 people or less (Council Chambers allows for 18 members of the public) while adhering to social distancing guidelines. During meetings, any member of the public physically present in the Council Chambers in excess of the limit will be asked to wait in another room with live feed to the meeting until the Citizens To Be Heard on Agenda Items section or Public Comments section of the meeting has commenced. Speakers will be rotated into Council Chambers to allow everyone an opportunity to speak. Pursuant to the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity’s Guidelines, it is recommended that any individual appearing in-person wear a face-covering to cover their nose and mouth. Citizens who are unable to attend the meeting can email comments in advance of the meeting to publiccomment@joliet.gov. ROLL CALL Also Present: Katie Smith, Arts Commission Liaison Present Chairperson Quinn Adamowski, Erick Deshaun Dorris, Megan Millen and Sue Regis APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Millen, seconded by Chairperson Adamowski, that the October 7, 2020 meeting minutes be approved. OLD BUSINESS Discussion: 2020 Committees and Committee Chairs Subcommittee discussed the status of inactive members (Moore & Fuqua) and next steps for replacing members. Adamowski stepped out of the meeting at 4:06pm and returned at 4:07pm. Arts Commission Liaison Katie Smith informed the subcommittee she will be reaching out to chairman of the subcommittees to do individual training on conducting meetings, minutes and recordings. This will also be shared at the upcoming Commission meeting on March 17, 2021. NEW BUSINESS Page 1 of 2 Arts Commission - Vision 2022 Subcommittee Meeting Minutes - Final March 10, 2021 Discussion: Procedures for Non-Voting Members of Subcommittees Chairman Dorris invited Arts Commission Liaison Katie Smith to provide an update on adding non-voting members to the Commission subcommittees. Smith reviewed the process for adding non-voting members, their roles and their impact on quorum. IACA Grant Applications Chairman Dorris gave an update on IACA grant applications including the timeline for completion. Discussion about completing the 504 Accessibility worksheet was had. Dorris will reach out to Carmine concerning completion of said worksheet for the grant. Otherwise he will reach out to the department heads who can help answer questions. Reviewing Subcommittee Goals for 2021 The Subcommittee discussed the goals of the other subcommittees and their relevance . All goals determined still relevant and important to Commission work. OLD OR NEW BUSINESS NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION Chairman Dorris shared an update concerning a newly accepted job. Also mentioned vacancy on the Arts Alliance Illinois Leadership Committee and some discussion of possible candidates for replacement was had, including Quinn Adamowski, Derek Conley or Katie Smith.
