As of August 30, 2021, Governor Pritzker announced a statewide indoor mask mandate for all Illinois residents, regardless of vaccination status. In compliance with Governor Pritzker’s mandate, any individual appearing in person must wear a face-covering to cover their nose and mouth. Citizens who are unable to attend the meeting can email comments in advance of the meeting to publiccomment@joliet.gov. ROLL CALL Commissioners present: Todd Wooten, Craig Purchase, Quinn Adamowski, Brad Price CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS This section is for anyone wanting to speak regarding non-agenda items and are allowed a maximum of 4 minutes. It is not a question and answer period and staff, and the Commission members do not generally respond to public comments. The City Clerk has a copy of the public speaking procedures; please note, speakers who engage in conduct injurious to the harmony of the meeting shall be called to order by the Presiding Officer and may forfeit the opportunity to speak. NEW OR OLD BUSINESS, NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION APPOINTMENT OF CHAIRMAN FOR FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSION Commissioner Purchase moved to appoint Commissioner Todd Wooten Motion was seconded by Commissioner Price Votes taken: Commissioner Purchase - Aye Commissioner Price - Aye Commissioner Adamowski - Aye Commissioner Wooten - accepts the nomination EXECUTIVE SESSION Commissioner Price made a motion to enter Executive Session for the purpose of hiring Joliet Police Officers Motion seconded by Commissioner Purchase Unanimous vote to enter Executive session HIRING OF JOLIET POLICE OFFICERS Page 1 of 2 Board of Fire and Police Commissioners Meeting Minutes January 11, 2021 #44 Jack Desiderio voluntarily withdrew on 12-7-2020 A motion was made by Chairman Wooten, seconded by Commissioner Purchase to deny #45 Alexander Horodysky The motion carried unanimously Aye: Chairman Wooten, Commissioner Price, Commissioner Purchase, Commissioner Adamowski #46 William Mills voluntarily withdrew 12-22-2020 A motion was made by Chairman Wooten, seconded by Commissioner Adamowski to deny #47 Carlitos McTizik The motion carried due to lack of majority per Legal Counsel. Aye: Chairman Wooten, Commissioner Adamowski Nay: Commissioner Price and Commissioner Purchase A motion was made by Chairman Wooten, seconded by Commissioner Purchase to deny #48 Craig Machuga. The motion carried. Aye: Commissioner Purchase, Chairman Wooten and Commissioner Adamowski Nay: Commissioner Price A motion was made by Chairman Wooten, seconded by Commissioner Purchase to appoint #49 Tomasz Albiniak. The motion carried unanimously. Aye: Chairman Wooten, Commissioner Purchase, Commissioner Price, Commissioner Adamowski.
