Eric Matteson, Joliet Fire Department, thanked the Mayor, Council, and citizens of Joliet for

PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Georgene Williams spoke regarding parking issues on Cora Street.
A brief discussion was held regarding negotiations with the owner of the Supermercado
concerning additional parking and police enforcement of parking violations.
Susan Vanlandingham spoke regarding parking issue on Cora Street.
Tamara Barnes spoke regarding parking issues on Cora Street.
Liz Lopez spoke regarding parking issues on Cora Street.
Kathy Garthus spoke regarding safety issues and truck traffic in front of her property.
Councilman Hug left the meeting at 7:15 p.m.
MAYOR AND COUNCIL COMMENTS:
Councilman Clement expressed concerns regarding the parking issues on Cora Street. He
briefly highlighted the health of the City's budget and positive progress being made with
regard to sewer and water projects and he welcomed long-time Councilman John Gerl who
was in attendance at the meeting.
Councilwoman Gavin congratulated the CDBG award recipients.
Councilman Guerrero spoke regarding urban growth and the effects on traffic and finding a

solution for the parking issue on Cora Street.
As a result of Councilwoman Quillman's inquiry, the City Manager stated he would follow-up
with the delay of the Basinger's Pharmacy building on Jefferson Street. Councilwoman
Quillman informed the residents Medicare will not call asking for your social security number
to beware of the scam.
Mayor O'Dekirk highlighted the Dirksen Junior High School STEM fair, Joliet Pride Network
Gala fundraiser, Super Soul Bowl at New Canaan Land Church, speaking engagement at
Joliet Junior College, YMCA Innovation Center ribbon cutting, Latino Economic Development
Association (LEDA) Open House, and State of the City speech.
CLOSED SESSION to discuss the following subjects:
A motion was made by Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, seconded by Councilman
Cesar Guerrero, to enter into closed session to discuss personnel, collective bargaining, land
acquisition or conveyance, pending or threatened litigation after which the meeting will be
adjourned.

All evidence and testimony will be presented under oath. The petitioner will be allowed to present first. After the
petitioner is completed, interested parties will be allowed to present evidence and/or cross examine the petitioner. As
this hearing is legislative in nature and not administrative, an interested party shall be defined as someone who either
owns property within 600 feet of the proposed development site, or a member or official representative of an affected
governmental body; the remainder of those who wish to be heard shall be classified as public speakers. Interested
