The petitioner will be allowed to present first. After the petitioner is completed, interested parties will be allowed to present evidence and/or cross examine the petitioner. As this hearing is legislative in nature and not administrative, an interested party shall be defined as someone who either owns property within 600 feet of the proposed development site, or a member or official representative of an affected governmental body; the remainder of those who wish to be heard shall be classified as public speakers. Interested parties will present second. Once the interested parties have completed, public speakers will be heard. PUBLIC COMMENTS: Trista Brown - spoke on multiple topics, including elevator issues for Larry Irving, the Attorney General's report and what the City is doing to change, parking downtown and the excessive ticketing, and south side of Joliet residents being asked what they need. Resident (Doug) - spoke about the statue in front of Slammers stadium without anything saying who it is - can we update that. Ana Sanchez, 1403 Newton Ave, bought her house 3 years ago, spoke about flooding in her basement multiple times, bike trail behind house is causing flooding, spoke to City and would like engineers to help her with this issue. Michael - spoke on the flooding issues as well, in Cumberland subdivision, weed and garbage issues as well, encourages City to help with the maintenance of these areas of the City. Page 11 of 12 City Council Meeting Meeting Minutes - Final August 5, 2025 MAYOR AND COUNCIL COMMENTS: Councilwoman Ibarra - spoke on the rain barrel program and encouraging others to join and save money, proposed next year do a combined meeting for National Night Out, spoke on the Joliet Central bridge issue and recommends raising the signs to a higher level, Happy Birthday to Lauren O' Hara and Councilman Clement, and thanked her parents for their support.
