As of June 11, 2021, Governor Pritzker moved Illinois to Phase 5. Under Phase 5, all sectors of the economy can resume at
regular capacity with new safety guidelines and procedures.
Pursuant to the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity’s Guidelines, it is recommended that any
individual appearing in-person who is not fully vaccinated wear a face-covering to cover their nose and mouth.
Citizens who are unable to attend the meeting can email comments in advance of the meeting to publiccomment@joliet.gov.

CAPITAL NEEDS
Mr. David Braner, CIO discuss the major projects that we need to work on towards year end
2021 or after.
The storage array needs to be updated with an approximate cost of $400K which would
expand the Nutanex environment.
- Storage Replacement
Mr. David Braner, CIO, stated that the city's database storage that house SQL Server/GIS
and video data array that was purchased roughly 6.5 years ago needs to be updated. It will
cost approximately $400K which would expand the Nutanix environment. He stated that the
vendor will no longer support it so it is time to update it.

- Wifi Refresh
Mr. David Braner, CIO stated that the next important project to work on is updating our Wifi
city network. It was updated 4 or 5 years ago but some of the main controllers are at their end
of life. The project cost will be approximately $75,000. We are more dependant on WiFi than
ever, especially since laptops have been heavily used to work from home during Covid.
- City Hall Physical Security
Mr. David Braner, CIO stated that our City Hall's door security base system is approximately
30 years old and needs to be updated due to it being at it's end of life. The physical security
will be moved to Genetac which will cost approximately $100,000. We need to get the door
hardware and wiring redone. The vendor the city will be using is Video Tec.
FLEET AUTOMATION DEMO
Mrs. Amanda Dite, Application Support Analyst, stated that Jeff Price, Fleet Services
Superintendent, reached out to her and asking for an asset management system because it
was currently being tracked on paper. Mrs. Dite introduced him to the city's current asset
management system. Mrs. Dite presented a demo of the application to the City Council.
VENDOR MATRIX UPDATE
Mr. David Braner, CIO introduced a vendor name Koda, who sells software that helps
customers organize jobs that take data and make it usable to be displayed on a dashboard .
Mr. Braner would like to deliver more dashboards with real-time data in 2022 to our City
Council especially for the water project.
