APPROVAL OF MINUTES

A motion was made by Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, seconded by
Cesar Guerrero, to approve Diversity & Community Relations Committee
Minutes from December 14, 2022. The motion carried by the following vote:
Aye: Councilwoman Gavin, Councilwoman Hallums Quillman and
Guerrero

None.

MISSION STATEMENT

Ms. McNichol stated that at the September meeting there were 3 options
presented to the Committee for a mission statement. She displayed the
outcome from that meeting and what the conclusion of the statement will be.
The Committee Members agreed with the final statement.
A motion was made by Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, seconded by
Cesar Guerrero, to approve the new mission statement. The motion carried by
the following vote:
Aye: Councilwoman Gavin, Councilwoman Hallums Quillman and
Guerrero
NEW OR OLD BUSINESS, NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR
RECOMMENDATION
Councilman Guerrero inquired about the non-violent cities project. Ms. McNichol responded
they would reach out to her once their presentation was ready to come back to the
Committee.
Councilwoman Gavin believes that ABBA will be coming back as well as LEDA. Ms. McNichol

gave further detail.
Councilwoman Quillman feels that people might be confused as to what the Diversity &
Community Relations Committee is about. Councilman Guerrero agreed.
