ROLL CALL Present Councilman Joe Clement, Councilman Cesar Guerrero and Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra APPROVAL OF MINUTES TMP-6617 Attachments: 101723 A motion was made by Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra, seconded by Councilman Joe Clement, to approve the Diversity & Community Relations Committee Minutes-10/17/23. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilman Clement, Councilman Guerrero and Councilwoman Ibarra CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS This section is for anyone wanting to speak regarding agenda items and are allowed a maximum of 4 minutes. It is not a question and answer period and staff, and the Committee members do not generally respond to public comments. The City Clerk has a copy of the public speaking procedures; please note, speakers who engage in conduct injurious to the harmony of the meeting shall be called to order by the Presiding Officer and may forfeit the opportunity to speak. CASA – PUBLIC SERVICE- ATTY FOR CHILDREN VICTIMS, CDBG PROGRAM YEAR 2023 TMP-6619 Attachments: CASA Memo Diverstiy Community Relations Committee Ms. Kristi McNichol, Housing Finance Specialist, gave the Committee a brief overview of the CDBG timeline. The applicants are CASA-Public Service-Atty for Children Victims, Will-Grundy Medical Clinic-Public Facility-HVAC Unit and Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet. Ms. McNichol said she will have a workshop in February 2024. Councilman Clement asked how many organizations came to the past workshop. Ms. McNichol responded 56. She said they are federal dollars therefore there are federal guidelines on them. Councilwoman Ibarra asked if the money has to be spent in city proper. Ms. McNichol said it has to be spent on city proper residents. Councilman Clement would like to see some of the sidewalks repaired in front of city residents homes with some of the money if possible. Ms. McNichol responded. Ms. McNichol responded. A motion was made by Councilman Joe Clement, seconded by Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra, to recommend for approval by the City Council the CASA-Public Service-Atty for Children Victims, Will-Grundy Medical Clinic-Public Facility-HVAC Unit and the Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet under the CDBG Program Year 2023. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilman Clement, Councilman Guerrero and Councilwoman Ibarra WILL-GRUNDY MEDICAL CLINIC – PUBLIC FACILITY - HVAC UNIT, CDBG PROGRAM YEAR 2023 TMP-6618 Attachments: WGMC Diversity Community Relations Memo This was voted on with TMP-6619. CATHOLIC CHARITIES, DIOCESE OF JOLIET, CDBG PROGRAM YEAR 2023 TMP-6620 Attachments: CCDOJ Diversity Community Relations Memo This was voted on with TMP-6619.
