150 West Jefferson Street City of Joliet Joliet, IL 60432 Joliet Historic Preservation Commission Committee of the Whole Meeting Minutes Commission Members Quinn Adamowski Brian Bessler Mary Beth Gannon Bill Habiger Kevin Heinemann Candace Johnson Kailee Lowry Sharon Merwin Aaron Mikottis Christine Policandriotes Sara Stovall Steven Wright Wednesday, January 6, 2021 6:00 PM City Hall, Council Chambers The Governor’s Office and the Illinois Department of Public Health activated a Tier 3 mitigation plan for all regions of the State of Illinois, effective Friday, November 20, 2020. In an effort to support these mitigation measures, the City of Joliet is limiting in person attendance in the council chambers to 10 people. During meetings, groups of 10 people will be staged in various locations within city hall. These groups will wait in areas with a live feed to the meeting until the Citizens to Be Heard on Agenda items section, the Public Hearing has commenced or the Public Comments section of the meeting has commenced. Speakers will be rotated into Council Chambers to allow everyone an opportunity to speak. Pursuant to the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity’s Guidelines, it is recommended that any individual appearing in-person wear a face-covering to cover their nose and mouth. APPROVAL OF MINUTES October 28, 2020 COW Minutes TMP-0784 Attachments: 102820 COW Minutes A motion was made by Candace Johnson, seconded by Sara Stovall, to approve October 28, 2020 COW Minutes. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Adamowski, Habiger, Johnson, Merwin, Policandriotes and Stovall Abstain: Bessler, Beth Gannon, Heinemann, Lowry, Mikottis and Wright STAFF REPORTS Ms. Bernhard went over the staff reports, the first item up was the 2021 meeting dates. Ms. Bernhard talked about the 2020 holiday cards. Ms. Bernhard talked about the changes to the city website and asked for input on future updates. Ms. Bernhard talked about the St. Johns project. Ms. Bernhard discussed the new Historic Preservation Commission member's responsibilities. Ms. Bernhard went over the grant deadlines and requires for City Council approval. OLD BUSINESS a. Candidates for Future Landmark Nominations Ms. Bernhard asked if anyone is working on any Landmark nominations. Commissioner responded, there is a property at 804 W. Marion Street in the beginning of the process. Commissioner Merwin mentioned a property that may be up at 1160 Black Road. Ms. Bernhard went over the list. NEW BUSINESS a. Review of 2020 Goals and Objectives TMP-0780 Attachments: 2020 Goals_Final Ms. Bernhard went over a recap of last years Historic Commission work. b.
