ROLL CALL Present Councilman Joe Clement and Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman Absent Councilman Cesar Guerrero ALSO PRESENT: Interim Corporation Counsel Todd Lenzie and Media Engagement & Communications Director Rosemaria DiBenedetto In response to Councilwoman Quillman’s questions, there was a brief discussion about excused and unexcused meeting absences. CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS None AGENDA ITEMS Vote to Discontinue the Publication of the City Newsletter TMP-7677 through the Services of Liberty Creative Solutions Attachments: Bid_Contract - Awarded - 2024-2025 Newsletter Design Print and Delivery - 83065.pdf At the request of Councilwoman Quillman and Councilman Clement, Media Engagement & Communications Director Rosemaria DiBenedetto briefly discussed the cost savings of discontinuing the publication of the City newsletter through Liberty Creative Solutions, a proposed monthly insert in the water bill, and continued print material for the senior population. At the request of Councilwoman Quillman, Ms. DiBenedetto described the cost of the contract, the cost per newsletter, and the vote requirement in order to discontinue the contract. Interim Corporation Counsel Todd Lenzie read Contract Provision 4.2 into the record and explained the item was on the City Council consent agenda with no resolution required. In response to Councilwoman Quillman’s questions, there was a brief discussion about the contract's termination, the notification deadline to inform Liberty Creative Solutions, and the fall newsletter publication deadline. Councilman Clement highlighted he was in favor of saving taxpayers’ dollars. A brief discussion was held regarding the new electronic newsletter. Councilwoman Quillman explained the new newsletter was a work in progress and briefly discussed the water bill insert of up-to-date monthly events. Councilwoman Quillman highlighted the high cost of the current newsletter. A motion was made by Councilman Joe Clement, seconded by Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, to approve Vote to Discontinue the Publication of the City Newsletter through the Services of Liberty Creative Solutions. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilman Clement and Councilwoman Hallums Quillman Absent: Councilman Guerrero NEW OR OLD BUSINESS - NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION None PUBLIC COMMENT None ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Councilman Joe Clement, seconded by Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, to approve adjournment.
