ROLL CALL Present Councilwoman Bettye Gavin, Councilwoman Sherri Reardon and Councilman Cesar Guerrero ALSO PRESENT: Chris Regis - Deputy Corporation Counsel, Christa M. Desiderio - City Clerk, and Greg Peerbolte - President of the Joliet Historical Museum. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Councilwoman Sherri Reardon, seconded by Councilman Cesar Guerrero, to approve the minutes of the March 29, 2022 Prison Committee Meeting. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Gavin, Councilwoman Reardon and Councilman Guerrero Approval of Minutes: TMP-5380 Prison Committee Meeting - March 29, 2022 Attachments: Prison Committee Meeting - March 29, 2022.pdf CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS None. DISCUSSION: Updates / Events 2023 Greg Peerbolte, President of the Joliet Historical Museum, gave a brief overview of 2022 tours and events, the 2023 construction schedule, and the 2024 appropriation request. A brief discussion was held regarding the condition of the prison and potential grants . APPROVAL OF LEASE EXTENSION Deputy Corporation Counsel, Chris Regis, gave a brief overview of the requested extension. A motion was made by Councilman Cesar Guerrero, seconded by Councilwoman Sherri Reardon, to approve the extension of the Intergovernmental Lease Agreement for the Prison . The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Gavin, Councilwoman Reardon and Councilman Guerrero Intergovernmental Lease Agreement TMP-5379 Attachments: LEASE AGREEMENT.pdf PUBLIC COMMENT Page 1 of 2 Prison Committee Meeting Minutes - Final March 21, 2023 Chris Regis thanked Councilwoman Gavin for her service on the Prison Committee. Councilwoman Gavin expressed her appreciation and gratitude to everyone for working with her on this endeavor. NEW OR OLD BUSINESS, NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION None. CLOSED SESSION: A motion was made by Councilman Cesar Guerrero, seconded by Councilwoman Sherri Reardon, to enter into closed session to discuss the lease extension after which the meeting will adjourn.
