Hug ALSO PRESENT: Interim City Manager Rod Tonelli and Corporation Counsel Sabrina Spano. AGENDA ITEM: Resolution Authorizing Execution of an Intergovernmental 338-23 Agreement Between the City of Joliet and the Joliet Park District (Taste of Joliet) Attachments: Resolution Agreement - Taste of Joliet Approver Report A motion was made by Councilwoman Sherri Reardon, seconded by Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, to adopt COUNCIL MEMO #338-23: Resolution Authorizing Execution of an Intergovernmental Agreement Between the City of Joliet and the Joliet Park District (Taste of Joliet). (RESOLUTION NO. 7887) The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilman Joe Clement, Councilman Cesar Guerrero, Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra, Councilman Pat Mudron, Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman and Councilwoman Sherri Reardon Absent: Councilman Larry E. Councilman Hug entered the meeting at approximately 4:33 p.m. Human Resources Director, Kathy Franson, gave a brief overview of Korn Ferry's recruitment process - executive recruiter vs. search firm. Interim City Manager Rod Tonelli reentered the room at 4:47 p.m. A brief discussion was held regarding the permanent City Manager position. A motion was made by Councilman Larry E. Hug, seconded by Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, to table COUNCIL MEMO #339-23: Award of Contract with Korn Ferry for an Executive Search for a City Manager for the City of Joliet. The motion failed by the following vote: Aye: Councilman Joe Clement, Councilman Cesar Guerrero, Councilman Larry E. Hug and Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman Nay: Mayor Terry D'Arcy, Councilman Cesar Cardenas, Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra, Councilman Pat Mudron and Councilwoman Sherri Reardon A motion was made by Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra, seconded by Councilman Pat Mudron, to approve COUNCIL MEMO #339-23: Award of Contract with Korn Ferry for an Executive Search for a City Manager for the City of Joliet. PUBLIC COMMENTS: Page 2 of 3 Special City Council Meeting Meeting Minutes - Final June 22, 2023 Sue Gulas, Joliet Park Board Member, thanked the Mayor and Council for their approval of the Intergovernmental Agreement Between the City of Joliet and the Joliet Park District for the Taste of Joliet. CLOSED SESSION to discuss the following subjects: A motion was made by Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra, seconded by Councilman Joe Clement, to enter into closed session to discuss personnel, collective bargaining, land acquisition or conveyance, pending or threatened litigation after which the meeting will be adjourned.
