Under Phase 5, all sectors of the economy can resume at regular capacity with new safety guidelines and procedures. Pursuant to the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity’s Guidelines, it is recommended that any individual appearing in-person who is not fully vaccinated wear a face-covering to cover their nose and mouth. Citizens who are unable to attend the meeting can email comments in advance of the meeting to publiccomment@joliet.gov. ROLL CALL Present Councilman Pat Mudron and Councilman Cesar Guerrero Absent Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman ALSO PRESENT: Mayor O'Dekirk, Chris Regis - Inspector General, Brent Fraser - Facilities Manager, Nick Semaca - Slammers President, Heather Mills - Slammers General Manager, John Wilson - Slammers Vice President Sales and Marketing, and Bob Okon - Herald News APPROVAL OF MINUTES Approval of Minutes: TMP-2136 Stadium Meeting - January 12, 2021 Attachments: Stadium Committee Minutes - January 12, 2021.pdf Minutes will be approved at the next Stadium meeting. CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS None. UPDATE ON SLAMMERS SEASON AND DISCUSSION ON FUTURE PLANS Councilman Mudron introduced the Slammers Management team: Nick Semaca, Heather Mills, and John Wilson. John Wilson, Vice-President of the Slammers, stated the Slammers are now a MLB partner. He stated numerous members of the Slammers have moved up to affiliated baseball. Mr. Wilson highlighted new sponsors, and reviewed the increase in stadium usage. A brief discussion was held regarding the MLB partner league and its advantages. In response to Councilman Mudron's question, Nick Semaca stated the estimated attendance has been 70% of normalcy. Heather Mills, General Manager, discussed soccer tournaments and informed the Committee no concerts are planned as of now. PUBLIC COMMENT None Page 1 of 2 Stadium Committee Meeting Minutes - Final July 29, 2021 NEW OR OLD BUSINESS, NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION None CLOSED SESSION A motion was made by Cesar Guerrero, seconded by Pat Mudron, to enter into closed session to discuss the setting of a price for sale or lease of property owned by the public body.
