ROLL CALL Present Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra, Councilman Joe Clement and Councilwoman Sherri Reardon ALSO PRESENT: Interim Corporation Counsel - Chris Regis, City Clerk - Christa Desiderio, City of Joliet - Brent Fraser, Nick Semaca - Owner Joliet Slammers, Mike Veeck - Owner Joliet Slammers, William Night Train Veeck - Owner Joliet Slammers, and Nick Ferro - Miracle League. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Approval of Minutes: TMP-6610 Stadium Meeting Minutes - Sep 26, 2023 Attachments: Stadium Committee Minutes - Sep 26, 2023.pdf A motion was made by Councilman Joe Clement, seconded by Councilwoman Sherri Reardon, to approve the minutes of the September 26, 2023 Stadium Committee Meeting. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Ibarra, Councilman Clement and Councilwoman Reardon CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS None. AGENDA ITEM Approval of the Sale of Greater than 50% of the Joliet ID-1430-20 Community Baseball and Entertainment LLC (Slammers) Attachments: slammerslease2022.pdf City Letter.pdf Interim Corporation Counsel Chris Regis brief discussed that the current Slammers' lease requires Council approval to sell more than 50% of one's share of ownership in the Slammers. Nick Semaca, current owner of the Slammers, spoke regarding the new majority ownership group, and that he and his partner will continue to own 25% of the Slammers. Mike Veeck, one of the new owners of the Slammers, briefly discussed their history with baseball, their connection to Chicago, and shared their enthusiasm for the opportunity with the Slammers organization. Page 1 of 2 Stadium Committee Meeting Minutes - Final November 6, 2023 A motion was made by Councilwoman Sherri Reardon, seconded by Councilman Joe Clement, to recommend for approval COUNCIL MEMO #ID-1430-20: Approval of the Sale of Greater than 50% of the Joliet Community Baseball and Entertainment LLC (Slammers) to the full Council. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Councilwoman Ibarra, Councilman Clement and Councilwoman Reardon PUBLIC COMMENT Nick Ferro, with the Miracle League, introduced himself, welcomed, and thanked the new owners. NEW OR OLD BUSINESS, NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION None. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Councilwoman Sherri Reardon, seconded by Councilman Joe Clement, to adjourn.
