Ryan Tree & Landscape LLC APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Jim Testin, seconded by Ronald Van Dyke, to approve the Minutes of October 5, 2023 Tree Advisory Committee Meeting. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Renwick, Satcher, Schoenheider, Testin and Van Dyke Tree Advisory Minutes - October 5, 2023 TMP-6747 Attachments: 100523 Tree Meeting Minutes.pdf CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS Darin Ryan, present on behalf of D. Ryan Tree and Landscape discussed the tree contract. Councilwoman Sherri Reardon and Councilman Larry Hug also commented on the tree contract. ARBORIST REPORT This was not addressed. 1. INFLATION REDUCTION ACT GRANT Rita Renwick discussed the inflation reduction act grant. She further explained that the award is granted in 2024. A motion was made by Mary Schoenheider, seconded by Betsy Satcher, to approve the recommendation that the City of Joliet seek a Large Community Inflation Reduction Act Grant for communities over 75,000 residents to fund completion of a Tree Inventory, Urban Forest Management Plan, and implementation of same and work cooperatively with the Joliet Park District if they also choose to apply for the Grant. GOALS FOR 2024 Page 1 of 2 Tree Advisory Board Meeting Minutes - Final December 7, 2023 Karen Fonte is preparing a letter that will be sent to the schools to see who would be interested in participating in the 2024 Arbor Day Events. NEW OR OLD BUSINESS, NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION NEXT MEETING FEBRUARY 1, 2024 Rita said that voting for Chair and Vice Chair will occur at this meeting. PUBLIC COMMENT ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Betsy Satcher, seconded by Jim Testin, to adjourn.
