APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A motion was made by Mary Schoenheider, seconded by Karen Fonte, to approve the August
1, 2024 Tree Advisory Meeting Minutes. The motion carried by the following vote:
Aye: Fonte, Renwick, Satcher and Schoenheider
Absent: Testin and Van Dyke

CITIZENS TO BE HEARD ON AGENDA ITEMS
No one present.
1. CN / AIB GRANT
Rita Renwick said 1,200 plants were delivered and unloaded at Judson Church and that by
the end of the week, all plants were planted. She indicated that part of the grant money was
spent for the Judge's visit from America in Bloom. There will be a rededication celebration on
Tuesday, October 8 @ 10 am at the gazebo at Judson Church.
2. GROWING CONTRACT
Rita indicated she received a list of all of the addresses and species that were planted in the
spring. She did receive the addresses for the fall planting, but not the species. Fall planting
will be taking place this week. There is a need for further discussion on who will be watering
the new trees once planted.
3. INFLATION REDUCTION ACT GRANT
Rita said they were a little behind on this and that they have until the 3rd Quarter of 2027 to
complete this.
4. ARBOR DAY NEEDS 2025
ARBOR DAY NEEDS 2025
Suggestions were to possibly have plants to grow inside the home instead of trees for the
students that cannot plant a tree outdoors.
5. NEW BOARD MEMBER
Rita Renwick said a new board member is needed.
6. MEETING DATES FOR 2025
Tree Advisory Board Meeting Dates for 2025 are: 2/13/2025, 4/03/2025, 06/05/2025,
08/07/2025, 10/2/2025, and 12/04/2025.

RECOMMENDATION
On 4/3/25 meeting date, the Arbor Day poster judging will take place. Jim Testin was not able
to attend today's meeting but he shared his notes from a meeting he was on the panel last
month with Rita.
