AGENDA ITEMS Election of Officers (President and Vice President) TMP-8379 A motion was made by Karen Fonte, seconded by Betsy Satcher, to appoint Rita Renwick as President. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: Fonte, Renwick, Satcher, Schoenheider and Testin Absent: Van Dyke Tree City USA Application Status TMP-8380 Rita Renwick discussed that the City was approved for the Tree City USA designation. She will also include this for a PR release. CN / AIB Grant TMP-8381 Rita discussed the status of this grant. They were allowed to list all the plantings that will be going in for the Chicago Street entryway. Growing Contract TMP-8382 Page 1 of 2 Tree Advisory Board Meeting Minutes - Final April 3, 2025 Rita discussed the status of this contract. Inflation Reduction Act Grant TMP-8383 Rita discussed that she had met with Greg Ruddy and Christa Desiderio about the $216,000.00 grant that was previously awarded to the City and they think that the funding should still be available. 2025 Arbor Day School - Edna Keith - Joliet District 86 TMP-8384 Rita discussed that she met with the principal and they have picked the spot for the tree planting. They will be choosing what kind of tree in the next few days. The festival will be on Friday April 25th at 10 am. The voting of the posters take place today and the winner will be invited to the April 15, 2025 Council meeting. New Board Member TMP-8385 Rita discussed reaching out to Will County in search of a new board member. NEW OR OLD BUSINESS, NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION Rita asked Jim Testin about the tree labels. He will review them and follow up with her. PUBLIC COMMENT None at this time.
