I. ROLL CALL
Michael LeVine, Chairman, called the Regular Meeting of the City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ)
Planning Commission (PC), held in the Assembly Chambers of the Municipal Building, to order
at 6:08 p.m.
Commissioners present: All Commissioners present via video conferencing – Michael
LeVine, Chairman; Nathaniel Dye, Vice Chairman; Paul Voelckers,
Clerk; Ken Alper; Dan Hickok; Weston Eiler; Josh Winchell; Erik
Pedersen
Commissioners absent: Travis Arndt, Assistant Clerk
Staff present: Jill Maclean, CDD Director
Irene Gallion, Planner
Assembly members: Greg Smith
II. REGULAR AGENDA
Discussion of Commission Priorities
Mr. LeVine explained the purpose of the COW meeting is to discuss Commission priorities for
the coming year with the goal outcome being a letter or memo to communicate those priorities
to the assembly. Following that, would be a few minutes to discuss attendance at Commission
and committee meetings.
Ms. Maclean presented the status of CDD and Planning Commission activities including new
subdivisions, status of pending appeals and land use code revisions.
Through discussion, Mr. Voelckers and Mr. LeVine will draft the memo and have it for the next
Regular Commission meeting to then forward to the Assembly upon approval.

Mr. LeVine addressed attendance. Specifically, unexplained absences at committee meetings as
well as Commission meetings saying the assembly keeps track of member attendance. It is a
show of responsibility and respect to other members to attend or communicate when you
cannot attend. Mr. LeVine proposed to add this to the next governance committee meeting.
Mr. Dye will work with Ms. Maclean to schedule a title 49 meeting.
