1. Call to Order – A quorum was present, and the meeting called to order by J. Knecht at 12:00 p.m.
2. New Business
a) AFA Office Space Update. A. Morman reported that they are working on floor repairs on the 1st floor and the
leaks in the roof have been repaired. Z. DuRant reported that Affiliated Van Lines came in and moved office and
meeting area items to a storage space located at 425 SW ‘C’ Avenue (formerly The Vogue), this space has been
donated to AFA by Shelly Williams. Artwork has been moved to Gill’s Framing, and she will provide an
estimate on repairs. AFA office is currently located in the BancFirst building, 3rd floor, room 309, but will be
moving to City Hall when keys are provided.
b) Slate of Officers. S. Kremmer presented the 2025-2026 Slate of Officers. No questions from the board. Board to
vote on new slate at June board meeting.
3. Old Business
a) None.
4. Officer’s Reports
a) Motion by R. Norrell, second by Z. DuRant to accept the April minutes as written.
b) No treasurer’s report this month. S. Hatch is working on our account and we hope to have a report in June.
Schwab account as on May 23 - $97112.34 J. Fritsch reported that the budget and allocations committee met and
recommended full allocation for all member groups.
5. Report from the Executive Director
Allocation checks are ready for pickup. I am still in the LPO office and will notify the board when I have moved to
City Hall. Thanks was given to all board members to volunteered during the festival.
6. Committee Reports
a) Festival – Next meeting will be Thursday, June 5th at 2701 SW ‘A’ Avenue. This will be a wrap up meeting to
discuss any pros or cons with the festival. Brooke Rooney will return next year as chair of the Children’s Tent.
The invoice for Journey Productions (Pat Reynolds) will be more this year due to hiring of his own crew vs.
trustees from the COL. Ideas are being discussed on having a Shepler Park Children Gallery for 2026.
b) Gala – The next meeting will be Tuesday, May 27th at 5pm, Centenary Methodist Church Parlor, 704 SW
‘D’Avenue.
c) Summer Arts Institute. 21 teachers, seven art teachers have been hired. Art supplies have been ordered. There
will be music, dance, art, LCT field trip, Painted Sky Opera and Bach and the Boom Box. On June 10th, Painted
Sky Opera will performed at the Farmers Market and on June 24 Back and the Boom Box. On June 26th
students will present a “Showcase” to family and friends. There are plans to have fall outreach in the schools for
Aftercare students.
