Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance The Friday, July 25, 2014, meeting of the Lombard Board of Fire and Police Commissioners convened at 7:01 a.m in the Lombard Village Hall Board Room, 255 East Wilson Avenue, Lombard, Illinois. B. Roll Call of Members Present: Chairman William Dunne Vice Chairman Thomas Rachubinski Guests: Police Chief Raymond Byrne Fire Chief Paul DiRienzo Human Resources Administrator Kathleen Dunne Police Administrative Coordinator Barbara Bartolotte C. Approval of Minutes It was moved by Chairman William Dunne, seconded by Vice Chairman Thomas Rachubinski, to approve the minutes from the regular meeting on June 13, 2014, the special meeting on June 24, 2014, and the special meeting on June 30, 2014. Motion carried. D. Public Participation No public. E. Payment of Bills The Board received invoice 3796-001 from Klein, Thorpe and Jenkins in the amount of $391.50 for services rendered for May 2014; Stanard & Associates Invoice #SA000025763 in the amount of $582.61 for Fire Lt. Promotional Process; Stanard & Associates Invoice #SA000025839 in the amount of $395.00 for personality evaluation for entry level police candidate, Korbin Rome; and Elmhurst Memorial Occupational Health Invoice #81340 in the amount of $415.00 for medical testing for police entry level candidate, Korbin Rome. It was moved by Chairman William Dunne, seconded by Vice Chairman Thomas Rachubinski to approve payment of the bills. Motion carried. Chairperson's Report Chairman William Dunne presented a letter for the record to Firefighter Mark Laffrey regarding his submission for veteran's points for the fire lieutenants test. Chairman William Dunne received a letter from Village Manager Scott Niehaus requesting the Battalion Chief Testing process to proceed. It was moved by Chairman William Dunne, seconded by Vice Chairman Thomas Rachubinski to move forward with the Battalion Chief testing process. G. Vice Chairperson's Report Nothing to report. H. Secretary's Report Absent. I. Correspondence The Board signed two certificates of probationary appointment from the police department for Korbin Rome and Jason DeMark. The Board received a letter from firefighter Mark Laffrey requesting his military points be added to his preliminary score on the lieutenant's exam. The Board received a memo from Battalion Chief Marty Coomes regarding a written reprimand to firefighter paramedic Tim Moran. The Board received a letter of commendation memo from firefighter Lt. Tony Sally to firefighter Bob Hopper and firefighter Tim Gorvett. The Board also received a memo from Lt. Heimbecker and Lt. Gallione regarding a written verbal reprimand to firefighter Anthony Goodman. J. Unfinished Business Fire Chief Paul DiRienzo updated the Board on the firefighter lieutenant testing process. It is stalled at the assessment center process at this time and is going to arbitration. The date is set for September 17, 2014. K. New Business None.
