A. Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance
The Thursday, September 18, 2014, meeting of the Lombard Board of
Fire and Police Commissioners convened at 7:06 a.m. in the Lombard
Village Hall Board Room, 255 East Wilson Avenue, Lombard, Illinois.
B. Roll Call of Members
Present:
Vice Chairman Thomas Rachubinski
Secretary Kenneth Florey
Guests:
Police Chief Raymond Byrne
Fire Chief Paul DiRienzo
Human Resources Administrator Kathleen Dunne
Police Administrative Coordinator Barbara Bartolotte
C. Approval of Minutes
It was moved by Secretary Kenneth Florey, seconded by Vice
Chairman Thomas Rachubinski to approve the minutes from the
regular meeting on August 22, 2014. Motion carried.
D. Public Participation
None.
E. Payment of Bills
The Board received Invoice #1410 from Conrad Polygraph in the
amount of $400.00 for 3 police entry-level candidates; statement
#171200 from Klein, Thorpe and Jenkins in the amount of $870.80
and statement #171500 in the amount of $1134.00. It was moved by
Secretary Kenneth Florey, seconded by Vice Chairman Thomas
Rachubinski to approve payment of the bills. Motion carried.

I. Correspondence
The Board received correspondence from the College of Dupage
Suburban Law Enforcement Academy on the progress of probationary
police officer Korbin Rome.
The Board received 5 letters of recognition from Fire Chief Paul
DiRienzo to Lt. Tony Sally, Lt. Mike Ringa, Lt. Doug Cail,
firefighter/paramedic Tom Gorvett, and firefighter/paramedic Bob
Hopper.
The Board received the Battalion Chief Test Eligibility List from Chief
DiRienzo.
The Board received 4 pricing quotes for the Battalion Chief
promotional testing process.
J. Unfinished Business
Chief DiRienzo reminded the Board that on October 21st the Fire
Lieutenants testing process is going to arbitration regarding the
assessment center.
Regarding the Battalion Chief promotional process, Fire Chief
DiRienzo asked the Board's permission to use Stanard & Associates.
The Board approved to use Stanard & Associates for this testing
process as long as Stanard matches the $9590 price we received from
I/O Solutions. It was moved by Secretary Kenneth Florey, seconded
by Vice Chairman Thomas Rachubinski to use Stanard & Associates
for the Battalion Chief Promotional Testing. Motion carried.

It was moved by Vice Chairman Thomas Rachubinski, seconded by
Secretary Kenneth Florey, to recess to Executive Session at 7:17 a.m.

The regular meeting of the Lombard Board of Fire and Police
Commissioners reconvened at 7:23 a.m.

It was moved by Secretary Kenneth Florey, seconded by Vice
Chairman Thomas Rachubinski, to deny conditional offers of
employment to police entry-level candidates Kevin Lamb, and John
Krewer. Motion carried.
O. Adjournment
It was moved by Secretary Kenneth Florey, seconded by Vice
Chairman Thomas Rachubinski, to adjourn the regular meeting of the
Lombard Board of Fire and Police Commissioners at 7:24 a.m.
Motion carried.
