Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance The Wednesday, March 16, 2016 Special Meeting of the Lombard Board of Fire and Police Commissioners convened at 2:57 p.m. in the Lombard Village Hall Board Room, 255 East Wilson Avenue, Lombard, Illinois. B. Roll Call of Members Present: Chairman, William Dunne Vice Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski Secretary, Kenneth Florey Guests: Police Chief, Raymond Byrne Fire Chief, Paul DiRienzo Human Resources Administrator, Kathleen Dunne Fire Administrator Coordinator, Pamm Cooper Police Administrator Coordinator, Barbara Bartolotte C. Approval of Minutes D. Public Participation E. Payment of Bills The Board received Invoice#1971 from Conrad Polygraph for polygraphs for 3 police candidates and 2 fire candidates in the amount of $800.00. It was moved by Chairman William Dunne, seconded by Secretary Kenneth Florey to approve payment of the bill. Motion carried. F. Chairperson's Report G. Vice Chairperson's Report H. Secretary's Report Village of Lombard Page 1 Board of Fire and Police Minutes - Final March 16, 2016 Commissioners I. Correspondence The Board received 3 memos from Village Manager Scott Niehaus regarding the authorization to proceed with the hiring of 4 police officers and the promotion of 1 Sergeant; and authorization to proceed with the hiring of 3 firefighters; notice of voluntary retirement from Police Lt. Dave Kundrot; a memo to the Village Manager from Fire Chief DiRienzo with notice that 3 fire lieutenants successfully completed their probationary period; letter from Chief of Police of Villa Park thanking our investigations unit for their assistance on a shots fired call in Villa Park; memo to Ofc. Garry Klunk from Chief Ray Byrne regarding life saving award for saving a cardiac arrest victim; 2 letters of recognition to firefighter/paramedics from Battalion Chief Coomes; and 9 letters of reprimand to firefighter/paramedics from various fire department supervisors. Executive Session It was moved by Chairman William Dunne, seconded by Secretary Kenneth Florey, to recess to executive session at 3:17 p.m. Motion carried. Reconvene The Special Meeting of the Lombard Board of Fire and Police Commissioners reconvened at 3:55 p.m. Present: Chairman, William Dunne Vice Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski Secretary, Kenneth Florey Guests: Police Chief, Raymond Byrne Fire Chief, Paul DiRienzo Human Resources Administrator, Kathleen Dunne Fire Administrator Coordinator, Pamm Cooper Police Administrator Coordinator, Barbara Bartolotte It was moved by Chairman William Dunne, seconded by Vice Chairman Thomas Rachubinski, to deny to proceed with background checks for fire candidates: David Vandusen, Joseph Pocarro, and retest the polygraph test for James Fritz; and proceed with background investigations on 3 fire candidates: Michael Pope, Jason Smolinski and Michael Loss. Motion carried. It was moved by Chairman William Dunne, seconded by Vice Chairman Thomas Rachubinski to deny to proceed with background checks for police candidates: Ronald Tomalis, Eric Schultz, Alex Cleveland and Thomas Hess. A conditional offer of employment was approved for police candidate Ryan Postal. Motion carried. O.
